With over 1 billion global users, TikTok is an attractive platform for content creators to be on. But what about business owners? Should TikTok be part of your social media strategy?

With Gen Zs and now millennials heading to TiKTok to embrace their creative side, more brands are starting to experiment with this site as well. One of the greatest benefits of TikTok for business is that you can really have some fun with your marketing campaigns through creating and sending out entertaining videos and this is a great way of attracting followers and getting more brand reach.

On TikTok you’re far more likely to go viral with a video than any other form of content.

So in essence TikTok can give brands great visibility and brand awareness but this does not mean that as a business you’ve got to engage in a cringing dance video that you feel is irrelevant to your brand. There are many other creative ways in which you can showcase your business in an entertaining way but that is more in line with your branding strategy.

If you HATE Social Media but feel obliged to be on this space for your business- you are not alone!

In fact, 67% of small business/brand owners report dislike for SM but do so for their business.

So if you are finding yourself pained by this space, but not ready to quit, here is what you can do:

1. Narrow down the Social Media Apps.
Find out which platforms are the most critical for your business to engage with your target audience on, i.e., instagram? TikTok? Facebook? LinkedIn? And just stick to those. The less platforms you are on, the less overwhelmed you will feel.

2. Set Usage Boundaries
There is no need to be active on social media every waking hour. Set aside a specific time per day to engage and post on your business's social profiles.

3. Get Inspired
Follow accounts that inspire you with their content and branding. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from others and get confidence with your own social media content.
