Good Friday - Love Paid the Price!
Love Covers All
In a serene setting, a family of threeāa couple and their sonāset sail on a beautiful day, unaware of the storm that awaited them. As they ventured further into the sea, dark clouds gathered, and suddenly, a raging ocean unleashed its fury. Tidal waves crashed over the boat, turning it upside down and leaving the family in despair. They found themselves struggling amidst the chaos, feeling hopeless and lost.
On the distant shore, a man observed their plight. Recognizing their desperate situation, he dove into the turbulent waters. With unwavering determination, he swam to the son first, bringing him safely to the island. Without hesitation, he returned to rescue the mother, guiding her to safety. Finally, he turned back for the father. But as he approached the father, exhaustion took hold; the man had become overwhelmed by the waves and his own fatigue. Despite his best efforts, he struggled to reach the last member of the family.
This scenario reflects the profound importance of love and graceāqualities that resonate deeply within the heart of God. Just as the man risked his life to save the family, Godās love for us is unwavering and sacrificial. No matter the struggles we face, no difficulty or sin is greater than the love of God. He died so we may live; He died so we could discover and fulfill our divine purpose. His sacrifice was made to save us and to offer us the hope of salvation.
Isaiah 53:4 reminds us:
"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
1 Thessalonians 5:10 states:
"Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him."
On this Good Friday, we bow in reverence at what was accomplished for us at Calvary. The Blood of Jesus, the most precious commodity in all of humankind, was poured out without reserve. He who knew no pain chose to carry ours. He who needed no suffering took our burdens upon Himselfāwillingly, completely, and sacrificially. This is the measure of His love.
Today, we pause, reflect, and remember this Supreme Sacrifice that forever turned our story around.
He chose the cross. He chose YOU!

šļøLIFE IS NOT MEANT FOR GIVING UP
Life will take you through many seasons. There will be times when you have more than enough, and it may make you feel strong, successful, and important. In those moments, you may begin to define who is rich and who is poor.
But there will also be times when you have very little. You may struggle, need many things, and even feel like you cannot make it in life.
However, with the grace of God, we are reminded of what Job said in Job 1:21:
"Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
When we understand this truth, poverty will not defeat us. Instead, we learn that life is a journey filled with tests of faithātests that challenge whether we will remain faithful servants of Christ Jesus.
As Christians, if we pray for prosperity but refuse to endure the trials of life, we will fall many times.
Yet the Bible reminds us in Proverbs 24:16: "For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity."
To truly understand life, we must face every situation that comes our way with faith. We should not chase after everything the world offers. Instead, we must trust Godās will and allow Him to guide and direct our paths in all that we do.
When we guide our children in the right direction from the beginning, their foundation will stand strong even in adulthood.

Jesus did not need baptism because He had sinned ā but He chose to be baptized by John the Baptist for powerful spiritual reasons.
Hereās why:
1. To Fulfill Godās Plan (Righteousness)
When John hesitated, Jesus replied:
āLet it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.ā ā (Matthew 3:15)
Jesus was showing obedience to Godās divine plan. Even though He was sinless, He fully submitted to Godās will.
2. To Identify With Humanity
Jesus Christ was baptized not for His sins ā but to stand in the place of sinners.
Baptism symbolized repentance. By being baptized, Jesus identified with the very people He came to save. It was a public declaration:
He came to carry our sin.
3. To Begin His Public Ministry
His baptism marked the official start of His ministry.
At that moment:
The heavens opened
The Holy Spirit descended like a dove
God the Father spoke:
āThis is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.ā (Matthew 3:16ā17)
This was a divine endorsement ā a public confirmation of who He was.
4. To Set an Example
Jesus modeled humility and obedience. If the Son of God submitted to baptism, how much more should we obey Godās commands?
He didnāt need it ā we did.
But He stepped into it for us.
In Simple Words
Jesus was baptized:
- Not because He was guilty
- But because He was obedient
- Not because He needed cleansing
- But because He came to cleanse us

Whether a woman is allowed to preach at the altar in church depends on the church denomination, doctrine, and interpretation of the Bible.
Hereās a clear breakdown:
1ļøā£ Churches That Allow Women to Preach
Many Christian denominations fully support women preaching and serving as pastors.
Examples include:
Assemblies of God
The Salvation Army
Anglican Church (in many regions)
United Methodist Church
These churches believe:
God calls both men and women into ministry.
Women like Deborah (Judges 4), Priscilla (Acts 18), and Phoebe (Romans 16) had leadership roles.
Galatians 3:28 teaches spiritual equality in Christ.
2ļøā£ Churches That Do NOT Allow Women to Preach as Pastors
Some churches believe only men should serve as pastors or preach from the altar.
Examples include:
Roman Catholic Church
Eastern Orthodox Church
Some conservative Baptist churches
They base this on verses such as:
1 Timothy 2:12
1 Corinthians 14:34
They interpret these passages as limiting pastoral authority to men.
3ļøā£ In Papua New Guinea Context šµš¬
In PNG, it depends on the denomination:
Pentecostal churches often allow women to preach.
Catholic and some traditional evangelical churches do not allow women at the altar as priests/pastors.
Biblical Perspective (Balanced View)
There are two major Christian interpretations:
Complementarian view ā Men and women are equal but have different roles.
Egalitarian view ā Men and women can serve equally in all ministry roles.
So⦠Is It Allowed?
āļø In some churches ā YES
ā In others ā NO
It depends on the churchās doctrine, not on Christianity as a whole.
