🎞️ Our communities have history. Our students inherit it.
This archival footage from “Los Sures” captures Williamsburg as it was lived—by families, workers, elders, and young people navigating change long before the word gentrification entered everyday language.
For CEC 32, this history matters. It reminds us that our schools serve neighborhoods shaped by resilience, migration, struggle, and pride. When we advocate for equitable education, culturally responsive curriculum, and community voice, we do so with this legacy in mind.
Our students deserve to see themselves—not erased, not displaced, but centered—in the story of Brooklyn.
