MMS/Latimer East Coast Trip 2022

What a difference a day makes. Beautiful sun shined last day of the trip. We needed the extra energy from the sun to push through. Our last day included Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, 9/11 Memorial, Wall Street, Little Italy and finally headed home. What a trip!!

Catching up - We played in the rain from Philadelphia to New York. The rain couldn't dampen the excitement and widening perspective of the kids that the world is much larger than their piece of California.

The kids learned today that people can live without IPhones and iPad's. They also took a glimpse into our past. Throw in a little snacks and food and we had a great day in Pennsylvania!

Bus 2 is in Philadelphia.

We saw the heart of Washington DC today. The question should be what didn't we see and experience. From the White House, The Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, to the powerful and poignant Vietnam Memorials, The Korean War Memorial and to top off the day a Ghost Tour of downtown Alexandria at night. Pennsylvania here we come!

Another successful day in DC. From Arlington to the Pentagon and a ton in between! The kids are engaged and we are wearing them out!! Let's go!!

We were very proud of the young men and women from MMS & Latimer today. They were able to tackle tough subjects with empathy and compassion. They also demonstrated their growing maturity by matching the seriousness of the subject matter with the appropriate tone and perspective. They also had a ton of fun when needed. All in all a great start to the trip!

We've made it safe and sound. A quick stop at somewhere familiar before beginning the official journey.
