This video I am going to be talking about and interpreting the readings of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, who is one of the pioneers in bringing mindfulness practice to the western world. This video, I am discussing his seven attitudinal foundations of mindfulness.
1. Non-judgment
2. Patience
3. Beginners mind
4. Trust
5. Non-striving
6. Acceptance
7. Letting go
I also discuss some from the Q&A from earlier today about the misconceptions and your questions about mindfulness meditation.

SANCTITY OF COMMUNITY Meditation - Soul In Training
Starting out with some gentle movement, I invite you to bring space and breath to your body, grounding ourselves in the present moment.
We meditate on the sense of community and how important and sacred it is to our practice. During these times especially during Covid, a sense of support and connection is so needed. You are not alone. You don't have to be alone in your practice. We all suffer and can support eachother. Namaste.

June 5th's SIT: Identity/Labels Meditation
"One cannot hate without knowing the experience of it" - Rev. Zenju Earthlyn Manuel.
We started off by doing some gentle movements to wake up our spine and bodies (not in video) and then we sat bringing our awareness into our bodies. We brought a soft focus on the labels we create for ourselves, including the label of what race we identify with. With care and no judgement we see what may arise in our bodies as we sit in these labels. We breathe out and notice the open awareness that is left, we open our heart space and bring in any sense of hardness/self-critic/self loathing/hatred we may be sensing in our own being.
In light of current events, I'm exploring what it feels to be in our bodies, with our skin color, our labels. This is our relative truth, our bodies navigate our experience through this life. We also explore the absolute truth, that our open awareness, vast and pure is that which connects all things, and is the very source of life.

Part 1 of a 4 part mini series (scroll down for details)
Tomorrow, FRIDAY 22nd
7:00am- 7:45am
•Reawaken your BODY
•Let me guide you in re-exploring
•Allow me to take you on a journey that can open up an intention to befriend the body, not oppose it.
Many of us take our bodies for granted. Some of us feel disconnected, as if we exist from the head up. Some of us feel trapped with incessant negative self talk towards our bodies. Maybe we feel numb towards it because of past trauma. I have suffered too. Whatever it is, I invite you to come to this space with me. I have created this safe space to help nurture our common human suffering. I have carefully created this 4 part series to make the potential for transformation and healing a tangible possibility.
With gentle yoga poses and mindful awareness, we will gather tomorrow to start to befriend our bodies. I hope you can join me.
No fee is required. If you would like (and are able) to make a donation, you can send it to (Venmo) -Moon-12 or [email protected] (PayPal or Quickpay/Zelle). Suggested donation: $15 or $50 for all 4 classes in this 4-part series for the next 4 Friday mornings.
