Communications Officer

Happy Thursday to all!

My name is Jianan Zhu, I’m the communications officer of GPH International Student Society. I’m in my 2nd year of Master in Public Health majoring in Biostatistics concentration. My major is preventive medicine during my undergraduate study.

Recently, my research interest is using statistical methods and machine learning to address some public health issues.

In my leisure time, I love to travel around and experience different cuisines. I also like photography.

If I’d have to pick a superpower, it would be teleport, since I can use it to get to anywhere I want instantly, and I can get to the person who needs help right away.✈️😎

Treasurer

Hi everyone!

My name is Ankita Mandwe. I am the Treasurer of GISS. I am originally from India and currently, I am staying in Newport, Jersey City. I am a second-year Public Health Policy and Management student with a focus on Management.Prior to NYU, I have done an MBA in Healthcare Management and have worked in the healthcare industry at the intersection of hospitals, home care, and healthcare tech startups.

I am passionate about converging digital health technologies such as platforms, software, and sensors to improve medical outcomes and reduce inefficiencies and costs.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to podcasts - All-In Podcast by Jason Calacanis is one of my favourites.

If I’d have to pick a superpower it would be Precognition just like Doctor Strange ( to look into the future and perceive future probabilities for good). And no one would blame me if I happen to run into a bit of lottery luck.✌🏻😎

I’m passionate about serving a specific local community by educating them and bringing awareness among them regarding Heath and health related issues and diseases by organising Medical and Healthcare camps in Schools, Universities and people of Rural Areas.

My hobbies include playing indoor and outdoor sports such as Badminton and Chess and I even like writing my own blog about Mystery Novels because I love the Mystery Genre.

If I’d have to pick a Superpower it would be Flight because I love travelling and have been travelling to many countries since years, so that way I’d be able to fly and reach anywhere in the world!😎✈️

Co-Secretary

Hello Everyone,
My name is Samruddhi Kherde. I am the Co Secretary of GPH International Student Society. I am from India and I have done my Bachelor's in Dental Surgery. Currently, I am in second year of Master's in Public Health. My major concentration in Health Policy and Management focusing on Health Management.

Having worked as a volunteer for social causes and in the public health field during my undergraduate program, I am driven to promote health change by reducing health disparities in communities.

My hobbies include playing badminton, reading books and baking, the hidden talent that I explored in me during lockdown.

If I had to pick a superpower that would be to travel in time because I am curious to know what lies ahead in the future for me.👀😎

NYUGISS meets our e-board members!
Co-President-

Happy Monday to all!
My name is Charissa. I'm the Co-President of the GPH International Student Society. In my 2nd year of Master in Public Health majoring in Sustainable Development Goals.

I pursued a bachelor of commerce degree in Canada with a term on exchange in Montpellier, France.

I wish to further help others to hopefully prevent but also to mitigate suffering - whether that be physically or mentally.

I can typically be found somewhere in nature with my 2020 rescue pup and possibly doing yoga.

If I had to pick a superpower, it would be teleportation. Working remote has been wonderful for commute time. Although, I love to explore, see, and learn new things. Following public health guidelines, imagine all the weekend getaways that could be a possibility because there isn't a long flight, car or bus ride and all the reduced contacts!😀
