🔧 RTV SILICONE COLORS EXPLAINED — WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU USE? 🚗

Different RTV silicone sealants are designed for different applications. Always check the product specifications because color alone doesn’t guarantee performance.

🔴 Red RTV — Often used for high-temperature sealing applications.

🟠 Orange RTV — Some formulas are designed for high-temperature engine sealing.

⚫ Black RTV — Commonly used for oil-resistant automotive sealing applications.

🔵 Blue RTV — Often used for general-purpose automotive sealing.

🟣 Purple RTV — Available in some specialized, low-odor or sensor-safe formulations.

🟢 Green RTV — Used in certain specialized sealing products; applications vary by manufacturer.

💡 Mechanic Tip: Check temperature limits, oil and coolant compatibility, sensor safety, and the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications before applying RTV. Too much sealant can squeeze into oil passages and cause serious engine damage.

Did you know that the shape of the compression inside the engine can affect the compression ratio, combustion, and engine performance? 🔥⚙️

There are several compression designs, and each one has a different function, from the surface compression cylinder to the piston compression cylinder, up to the compression cylinder specifically designed to provide space for the valves.

In the picture, we explain 6 of the most common types of compression cylinders and their uses in a simple way 🔧🚗

Power Flow Sequence

• Propeller Shaft (Input Power): Delivers rotational torque from the transmission to the pinion gear.
• Pinion Gear: Rotates and meshes with the larger ring gear, turning the power delivery by 90 degrees.
• Ring Gear: Bolted to the differential carrier, spinning the internal gear cage.
• Spider Gears (Differential Gears): Rotate with the carrier and spin independently to let wheels turn at different speeds during corners.
• Side Gears (Axle Gears): Receive power from the spider gears and drive the left and right axle shafts.
• Axle Shafts: Transfer final torque outward to the truck wheels.

> Ever wondered how a fuel pump knows exactly when to stop? ⛽🔧
That automatic "click" when your tank gets full isn't magic—it's clever fluid mechanics!
Here is an inside look at the AutoCraft breakdown of a fuel hose and nozzle mechanism:
The Fuel Hose: Engineered with a steel braided layer sandwiched between weather-resistant and fuel-resistant rubber for maximum durability and pressure tolerance.
Vapour Sensing Venturi: Uses vacuum pressure created by fuel flow to detect when the liquid reaches the tip.
Automatic Shut-off Diaphragm: The moment air flow is blocked by fuel in the tank, the vacuum triggers the diaphragm, snapping the main valve shut instantly to prevent overfilling.

Key Engine Subsystems & Components

• Turbocharger & Intercooler: Uses exhaust gases to spin a turbine, compressing intake air to boost power, while the charge-air (intercooler) cools the compressed air before it enters the engine.
• Cylinder Head & Valve Train: Sits atop the cylinder block, housing the rocker arms, push rods, valve springs, and intake/exhaust valves.
• Cylinder Block & Piston Assembly: Houses the cylinders, pistons, piston rings, connecting rods, and the main crankshaft assembly that converts linear combustion force into rotational power.
• Fuel Injection System: Features a high-pressure pump, common rail, fuel filter, and lines to spray diesel directly into the combustion chambers.
• Cooling & Lubrication Systems: Uses a radiator fan, water pump, and thermostat for temperature control, alongside an oil pump, filter, cooler, and sump to reduce internal friction.
• Exhaust Aftertreatment (DPF & SCR): Incorporates a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to clean exhaust emissions.
