There are situations that you must use the definite article.

There is a difference between English and Portuguese in terms of articles. Have ever made any mistakes about it?

As a simple tip, it's mandatory to use a definite article before countries, oceans, mountains, streets.

That's all for today, see you next time.

It's hard to find a post like this!

Some of my students have asked me to explain how they could say 'there is' and 'there are' in Portuguese. Are you one of them?

The first way to do is by using 'há'. It comes from the verb 'haver' (to exist). 'Há' does not agree in number neither in gender. To use it, just replace the 'there is' or 'there are'.

The second one is less formal. It's done by using the verb 'ter' (meaning to exist).

Ready to use 'há' or 'tem'?

I still remember 2019 as the last year I could travel abroad. In that year, I could spend 45 days traveling through England, Wales and Scotland.

During that trip, I figured out that a lot of people were looking for someone to teach them Portuguese.

Later, quarantine came and made people leave that dream to the future in order to manage an increasing crises.

Although, these hard times created a scenario where Internet became an inseparable friend, changing the way people learn foreign languages.

That's the scenario were Portuguese_with_vitor was born. Now, I have been able to teach much more people, even from far away distances.

That's why I thank you, my follower. I thank you because you trust me and believe that together, we can go anywhere we want.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

Let's sit together and talk about campatives.

Comparatives are easier than you think. Use the formula in this post and you will create a correct comparison.

There are some exceptions that you must pay attention. In these cases, you create a new word.

That's all for today.

Unlike most people think, there are easy things you can do to improve your Portuguese.

The first step is listening to a song while reading its lyrics. In this scenario, you will develop your listening skills. Besides that you can learn new words to amplify your vocabulary.

The second tip is reading a single page of a book. Feel free to read more, if you want. If you follow this one, in the end of this year, probably you will have read your first book in Portuguese.

The third tip is translating a paragraph. Most teachers say that translation is not useful to learn another language, although, it's an opportunity to test if you really know what is written in that paragraph.

The fourth one is extremely useful, because grammar is the tool to build your Portuguese skills. Never believe when someone says you don't need to study grammar.

The last one must be done after you study a grammar page. You should do it verifying the rules you have just learned. This tip mustn't be skipped because it makes you memorize grammar rules. Always correct your answers.

Unlike most people think, giving an order is really easy.

There are two steps, the first one is to conjugate the verb on it's simple present form. The second one is to change a single letter.

This letter is the one connected with the ending of the verb: -ar, -er, -ir.
If the verb ends with -ar, the -a becomes an -e.
If it ends with -er or -ir, both -e and -i become -a.

Besides that, you can only give orders to someone (Você, vocês and nós), so eu, ele, ela, eles and elas can't recieve orders. @ Times Square, New York City

Something people don't know is that the structure of a sentence is really easy.

If you wish to learn Portuguese, you must learn how to structure a sentence, otherwise, you'll create Frankensteins

In a simple clause, the order follows the basic order: Subject + Verb + Object

In questions, it has a difference when compared to English. The clause follows the normal order and don't change, as happens in English.

To finish, you have to know that adjectives work completely different from Portuguese to English. In Portuguese, the follow the noun, while in English they are followed by the noun.

This post has what you need to use the future tense properly.

Most people close their minds and they avoid learning some grammar topics. A huge amount of people don't learn the future tense because of this.

Luckily you are here with me and I'm going to give you an easy way to use this tense.

First step, pick the infinitive tense of a verb, it means, how it is in the dictionary (to eat - comer/to love -amar)

After that, just add the ending according to the person who speaks.

Now you are ready to use the future tense. That's all for today, see you next time. @ New Delhi
