The second half of the bball season is starting Tuesday with a BIG doubleheader at The Swamp! Come down to see the Lady Caimans take on Rockland CC then stick around for the men to take on the Globe Institute of Technology!

Record books of the Hostos basketball teams are coming together! Single season and career records have been tabulated from stats of the 03-04 season up to and including the 09-10 season for both men's and women's teams. See if you are among the Hostos best for most offensive and defensive categories. Sorry Blocks have been omitted because the NJCAA has been keeping track of them for only two seasons.

To all former players of Hostos mens and womens bball teams: If you've ever wondered where you stood in the record books against other players of the past or simply if you held any records for your time on the teams then stay tuned for a The Hostos Basketball Record Book to come to the Hostos Athletics web site. Game, season, and career records are being determined. More details will be released soon.

The "half" way point has come in the bball season and so far the Hostos men's team is leading Region XV schools in offense, defense, and field goal percentage. They are also holding onto 4th place in the Region XV standings with a record of 3-2 against regional schools while having the 2nd best record overall at 6-3. In CUNYAC they are currently in 2nd place with a 2-1 record behind Bronx CC at 2-0.

This week's Region XV reports are in and gratz go out to Myra Molina, Yuly Rodriguez, and the whole Hostos Women's team. Molina leads all regional players in scoring [178 points], Free Throws Made [51], and 3 Points Goals [23]. Rodriguez has become the dominant rebounder to lead all players with 99 total. The ladies are also leading all regional teams in Free Throws hitting 59% of the time. Good job Lady Caimans!

Congratulations goes to Myra Molina for a great performance at the Onondaga Classic Tournament held over the weekend. Her stats against Onondaga CC and Sullivan County CC earned her an All-Tournament award.

The Hostos women bballers took a tough loss in the first game of the Onondaga Classic Tournament today. However, Yuly Rodriguez continued her great rebounding pulling down 9 while scoring 8 points. Hostos held Onondaga to 3-12 shooting from 3 point range while causing them to turn the ball over 19 times throughout the game.

Some of the bulletin boards outside the gymnasium have been updated! The most up-to-date rosters and schedules for both bball teams are now posted. Also, prior to the Hostos vs QCC doubleheader, check out the showcases to the right of the main gym doors. Highlight images of the BMCC doubleheader are now up to replace posters from last season. Full color versions will replace them asap. Enjoy!

What are you doing from 6pm to around 10pm Thursday?! Nothing? GOOD! Come to the Hostos Gymnasium to see the women's basketball team shoot for two in a row as they take on CUNYAC rival Queensborough CC! Stick around after to see CUNYAC's #1 Men's CC Basketball team as they also take on QCC starting !

GREAT night for Hostos bball! The Lady Caimans started the night by getting their first win of the season vs BMCC 58-53! Between them Yuly Rodriguez and Tiffany Nichols put in 28 points and grabbed 33 rebounds for their first collegiate double-doubles. Myra Molina led all scorers with 20 points. The Hostos men completed the sweep of BMCC defeatng them 66-57 with four players in double digit scoring.

HUGE week for Hostos basketball starts tomorrow at the Swamp! Hostos Lady Caimans take on Borough of Manhattan Community College then the men take the court to face off against BMCC's guys! Then come back Thursday as both teams take on Queensborough CC! Ladies @6 Guys @ 8!
