📚✨ Give your little learner a literacy boost this fall!
Our 4-Week Literacy Boost is a fun, game-based small group designed for rising Pre-K and Kindergarten students to strengthen the foundational skills they need to feel confident and ready for the school year! 🍎✏️
Through interactive games, hands-on activities, and engaging stories, we’ll work on letter recognition and sounds, phonological awareness, early reading and writing, vocabulary, listening comprehension, and more!
🗓️ 4 Saturdays: September 19th, October 3rd, 10th & 17th
⏰ 12:30–1:20 PM

📚 One of the simplest ways to build a stronger reader? Have them READ ALOUD!

Consistent read-aloud practice helps children build fluency, accuracy, expression, and confidence—all while giving you a chance to hear where they may need a little extra support.

✨ Even 10 minutes a day adds up. The more they read, the stronger and more confident they become!

Last tip: Take the help! ❤️

Preschool teachers are experts when it comes to separation—let them help you! They know how to engage, redirect, comfort, and help your child settle into their new environment. They are a tool for you, so use them!

And remember: even if there are tears at drop-off, that doesn’t mean it isn’t going well. Separation is a process, and every child gets there in their own time.

Tip #3: Do what you say!
No one has to leave the classroom until they—and their child—feel ready. But once you tell your child you’re leaving, you have to follow through.
If you say, “Mommy is going to grab a coffee and I’ll be back,” then go! This helps your child learn that your words are predictable: you mean what you say, you leave when you say you will, and most importantly—you always come back.
Consistency builds trust, and trust makes separation easier. 💛

Tip #2 for a seamless separation: Come up with a plan! 💛
Give your child a timeframe they can actually understand. Instead of saying, “I’ll be back in an hour,” try something concrete and familiar: “Mommy is going to grab a coffee,” or “Mommy is going to run to the laundromat.”
The goal is to make the separation feel short, predictable, and manageable. And most importantly, always end with the same reassuring message: “Mommy will be back.”
Over time, they learn the pattern: grown-up leaves → grown-up comes back → I’m safe. That consistency is what builds confidence and makes separation easier.

Long car rides with kids can be HARD 😅 One of our biggest lifesavers this summer has been Smash Boom Best—a podcast where two totally different things go head-to-head in a debate, and kids have to listen to the arguments, weigh the evidence, and decide which side made the stronger case.
Our kids are obsessed, and they’re practicing how to:
• Listen closely to different points of view
• Compare arguments
• Decide which evidence is most convincing
• Explain and defend an opinion
• Reconsider their thinking after hearing new information
