Creating a PECS Communication book

1. Start with a thin 1” binder and add tabbed plastic dividers.

2. Use AI to add your child’s name and something they love right on the front cover to slip into the clear pocket.

3. Add strips of Velcro soft roll cut into about 8” pieces and stick them onto each plastic divider page.

4. Print and laminate your chosen PECS to add to your personalized book. The book I’m creating is starting with food items to have the student learn to identify and request foods which is a primary reinforcer.

5. Add other ABA style pictures such as a waiting hand task, yes/no pointing pages, to do/all done task pages and whatever you feel your child needs to learn such as requesting using “I want…”, “ I feel…” etc.
