The 2026 Woodbury Parks & Recreation Summer Concert Series kicks off July 8, and we can’t wait to spend Wednesday evenings with great music, lawn chairs, friends, and community fun this summer.

Well done, Southbury, in getting this grant and reopening your town tennis courts.

📰 GOOD NEWS FROM THE TOWN OF SOUTHBURY: The Community Park tennis courts are officially re-opened after being swept away in the August 2024 flood.
🎾 Over the past 20 months, the town worked with FEMA to get reimbursed for the courts, however FEMA typically reimburses municipalities for only 75% of disaster related costs. Thanks to a grant from the U.S. Tennis Association of New England (USTA), we were able to get our courts fully restored with post tension rods, which dramatically reduces long-term maintenance costs with their ability to resist damage from shifting soil and eliminate structural cracking.
🏸 The community is welcomed to come out and enjoy the new courts. Courts can be reserved for $2 per hour on MyRec (https://southburyct.myrec.com/info/facilities/default.aspx), otherwise they are first come, first served.

New Milford Tennis Club is a tennis jewel of Western Connecticut.

🎾 The New Milford Tennis & Swim Club partnered with the Asian American Pacific Islander Tennis Association and USTA Connecticut to host a free AAPI Community Smash event on Friday in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month. The event featured 2012 US Open junior champion and former WTA No. 98 Samantha Crawford, now serving as Executive Director of AAPITA, who joined club owner and former touring pro Dinesh Rajagopalan for a live on-court demo showcasing a mix of power, touch, and creativity 💥 More than 20 players (ages 10–18) then took part in group instruction, with Crawford rotating between courts to connect with participants and share insight. Off the court, players sampled Asian snacks and had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the former champion. The event brought together a diverse group of volunteers and players, representing heritages including China, India, Japan, Korea, Ecuador and more 🤝 #aapiheritagemonth #nationaltennismonth #weallplay
