Lozenges, throat sprays, and syrups won’t actually do anything for your voice in the long run. When you have a viral infection, often times there’s no way to rush recovery. But, by managing:
- Mucus
- Nasal congestion
- Coughing and throat clearing
- Use of SOVTEs
You might not only speed up recovery, but you can recondition faster.

Thank you to Jerome Trescott for the original logo outline, recently updated for our new logo, here! ❤️👏🏻
The lotus flower is notorious and celebrated in many cultures for its ability to bloom in less-than-ideal conditions. It symbolizes many things including purity, beauty, majesty, grace, wealth, knowledge and serenity. With its roots firmly planted in the mud, it blooms above murky waters as one of the most beautiful asiatic flowers.
This symbol is a cornerstone of the studio because it represents the struggle present in each of us as we strive to master our voices or our instrument in connection to the larger struggles that arise in everyday life. With the belief in our natural ability to grow from adversity, we can lean into making mistakes as an imperative feature of being an accomplished musician and person.
I strive to imbue this belief and confidence in all my students: self-doubt is inevitable, but how we manage it and learn to grow from our mistakes and struggles will determine the wholistic picture of our musicianship. By being comfortable with the uncomfortable, it makes approaching technique issues more manageable and realistic because it comes from a place of normalcy, rather than failure.
Join me on the journey to discovering your talent and enjoying the many ups and downs that any discipline takes! I will continue to be a forever learner with you.
