We recently sat down with Brandon Dzirko, improviser at the Upright Citizens Brigade, for the first installment of our Interviews with Professional Improvisers series! 🎉
Brandon shares how improv has helped him handle uncertainty at work, connect with new people, and let go of the fear of embarrassment. His biggest takeaway? "We all do improv every single moment of our lives."

📊 Unscripted by the Numbers: Spring 2026
We're celebrating a powerful spring semester across two cities!
🔔 Philadelphia (Year 6): 383 students, 21 classes 🗽 New York City (Semester 3): 91 students, 5 classes.
Through our in-school programming, we're helping 474 young people build confidence, find their voices, and empower collaboration.
Thank you to our incredible partner schools, educators, and supporters who make this work possible.

This fall, we launched our NYC program, our very first semester bringing The Unscripted Project to five New York City classrooms.🗽
Students shared how improv helped them connect with each other, communicate more confidently, and feel more like themselves. These reflections capture exactly what arts-based social-emotional learning can unlock when students are given space to play, take risks, and be heard.
We’re so excited to continue growing in NYC.

Teaching Artist Highlight: Tara Gadomski 💛
Tara shared how improv has helped her stay present, listen more deeply, and build better relationships—skills she brings into every classroom. Some of her favorite moments as a TA come from watching students cheer each other on, open up to someone new, and build mini-communities through improv.
Fun fact: Along with English, Tara speaks Portuguese and Hungarian, which sometimes comes in handy with our students!
You can also catch her in a recurring role on Dope Thief on Apple TV+ (filmed in Philly).
We’re so grateful for Teaching Artists like Tara who show up with heart, creativity, and care 💛

There are no mistakes in improv — and that idea can be transformative.💪🏻
In our programs, students learn to take the fear out of “failure,” roll with the unexpected, and turn challenges into creative opportunities. Those skills don’t just stay in the classroom. They show up in friendships, presentations, problem-solving, and everyday life.
