Happy Thanksgiving! We are so thankful for our students, parents, donors, partners, and mentors for their continued commitment to our mission. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday. Tutoring and all classes resume on Monday, 12/1.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with as part of the ROOTED Wellness Series. NYCCC will be leading 4 chess workshops in the coming weeks, beginning this Wednesday, October 1st from 4:00-5:00 PM. We are so excited to deliver this programming with the and hope to see you there (even if you don’t yet know how to move the pieces)! You can sign up now for free at the link in our bio.

We would like to thank our dear friends at and Coach Russ Makofsky for donating chess sets and equipment to all our wonderful NYCCC students. Our summer program simply wouldn’t have been possible without their generosity, and we are so grateful for their kind support. We are filled with great excitement for this year, as we strive to continue sharing chess with students in our community.

This past week, NYCCC held its first in-person summer camp. 19 students and 12 mentors joined us for a fun week of chess, new friends, and community. A huge thank you to the for hosting us, and to all our partners who made this possible. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to put together this experience for our students, and look forward to many more in the future. A slightly late post… Thank you so much to for hosting us once again at Brooklyn Chess Day 5/3 at MS 582K in East Williamsburg. We look forward to seeing everyone at upcoming programming this summer, which will be announced in the coming days.

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to volunteer with and at the grand opening of the Davis Center. We can’t wait for many more future events at this wonderful community center. Find our team tomorrow at Brooklyn Chess Day at MS 582K!

We had a great time volunteering on March 29th at the CIS Bronx Chess Day at PS. 70. Thank you to Chess In The Schools for having us at this wonderful event. We look forward to helping out once again at Brooklyn Chess Day at MS 582K on May 3rd!
