Really proud of our Pony League team! Finished the season as league champions with an 18-2 record! This team was resilient all year and ended the season winning 8 in a row! Congratulations to all the players and coaches and looking forward to the 8th graders joining our high school program next season! Here is the GameChanger recap of the championship game:

Buckeye Central Pony League Come Back To Defeat Bascom Pony (Brickman)

Buckeye Central Pony League trailed by as many as four, but came back to top Bascom Pony (Brickman) on Wednesday, 8-6.

Bascom Pony (Brickman) got on the board in the top of the first inning after Parker Hintze tripled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Bascom Pony (Brickman) added one run in the second after Kaiden Picciuto stole home.

Buckeye Central Pony League tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Preston Ehrman, and a steal of home by Evan Fishpaw.

Buckeye Central Pony League took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after John Curry singled to center field, Grant Bogner singled to center field, and Bascom Pony (Brickman) committed an error, each scoring one run.

Jackson Earnest earned the win for Buckeye Central Pony League. The pitcher gave up two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Hudson Alt took the loss for Bascom Pony (Brickman). The pitcher went four innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out five and walking one. Curry started on the bump for Buckeye Central Pony League. The pitcher gave up four hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking three. Hintze started on the hill for Bascom Pony (Brickman). The pitcher gave up two hits and three runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three.

Buckeye Central Pony League tallied 10 hits in the game. Bogner, Kellen Pope, and Kam Hensley each collected two hits for Buckeye Central Pony League. Bogner went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Pope, Earnest, and Fishpaw each stole multiple bases for Buckeye Central Pony League. Buckeye Central Pony League stole nine bases in the game.

Hintze provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bascom Pony (Brickman) with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Bryler Brickman and Corbon Nye each collected two hits for Bascom Pony (Brickman). Picciuto stole two bases.

Our four seniors and Coach Jensen represented Buckeye Central at the District 9 All-Star game Monday at Cedar Point Sports Force in Sandusky. Their Crawford/Richland county team won 10-3!
