Our DMLC Music Professor Bruce Backer has gone home to heaven. May Jesus comfort those who mourn. Revelation 14:13
"And I heard a voice from heaven saying, 'Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on.' 'Yes,' says the Spirit, 'they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!'" ✝️

It was really cool and a great privilege to be able to start as a freshman running back for the DMLC Lancers. We defeated Upper Iowa University and then we defeated Marquette University to start out the season 2 and 0. I was blessed to have my photo along with Kevin Kutz making a great block for me on the front page of the New Ulm Journal. Our football team had a great start for DMLC that went on to have a very good football season in the Fall of 1981. Our DMLC Lancers football team went on to defeat the Northwestern College Trojans for the very first time. Great memories of 45 years ago! 🏈

I traveled from Bay City, Michigan to New Ulm, Minnesota 45 years ago, in August of 1981 to Dr. Martin Luther College (DMLC). I was ready to play some football for Coach Dennis Gorsline as a freshman. 🏈
