Here at Bethel Christian Preschool & Academy, we believe outdoor play allows children to learn naturally through movement, exploration, curiosity, and imagination! ✨

Outdoor play is an important part of how young children learn, grow, and develop!

When children play outside, they have the opportunity to explore their environment, use their imagination, solve problems, and build confidence!

During outdoor play children are..

🏃‍♀️Running, jumping, climbing, balancing, and strengthening their coordination.

🧠 Figuring out how to climb, build, move, explore, and navigate their surroundings.

🤝 Learning to share, take turns, communicate, and play together.

💭 Using imagination and creativity.

🔎 Observing bugs, plants, weather, shadows, dirt, and everything nature has to offer.

❤️ Gaining confidence & independence by having opportunities to make choices, try new things, and discover what they can do.

📚✨ BACK TO SCHOOL LEARNING! ✨📚

We are kicking off the school year by learning all about the letter Aa!

Our classes are…
Practicing the long and short sounds of Aa.
Identifying uppercase A and lowercase a.
Finding and identifying the letters in their own names.

We are building confidence with recognizing letters through fun, hands-on activities!

🌟 Why Is Letter Recognition Important Before Age 5?

Letter recognition is an important early literacy skill that helps children begin connecting letters to sounds and eventually to words. When children can recognize letters, especially the letters in their own names, they are building an important foundation for reading and writing.

🏠 Ways to Practice at Home

You don’t need a worksheet to build literacy skills! Here are some different ways to practice at home…

🔤 Point out letters on signs, books, cereal boxes, and packages.
📚 Read together every day and ask your child to find familiar letters.
🎵 Sing the alphabet song and pause to identify specific letters.
👀 Play a “Letter Hunt” around the house—“Can you find the letter A?”
💬 Talk about the sounds letters make and find objects that begin with that sound.

It is important to remember that learning happens through play! ❤️ Short, fun, everyday opportunities can make a BIG difference in your child’s early literacy development. Every letter learned today is one more step toward becoming a confident reader tomorrow! 🌟

As summer comes to a close, our hearts are full of gratitude for an incredible season of learning, laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories! We have loved watching our students build friendships, discover new things, and shine each day.

While we’re sad to see the summer end, we are so excited for all that this new school year will bring!

To our graduates, we are so proud of you and all you have accomplished!! Wishing you a wonderful school year filled with success, confidence, new friendships, and many exciting adventures. We know you’ll do amazing things!

🍎👩‍🍳 Cooking Week was a huge success! 👨‍🍳🥕

This week our little learners explored the exciting world of bakers and chefs, discovering how they each play an important role in preparing delicious foods.

We learned that fruits and vegetables don’t just come from the grocery store, they grow on farms, in gardens, and on trees! 🌱🍎

We talked about the important nutrients fruits and vegetables give our bodies to help us grow strong and healthy. Through hands-on activities, creative art projects, and sensory learning, our students had so much fun exploring food in meaningful ways.

One of the week’s highlights was making our very own peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, practicing independence, following directions, and building fine motor skills.

Most importantly, we connected our learning to God’s Word by reading about the miracle of Jesus feeding the 5,000, reminding us that God provides for our needs and that sharing with others is a wonderful way to show His love. ❤️✝️

What an amazing week of learning, creating, and growing together!

This week is Cooking Week! 🍎🥕👩‍🍳

Our students will enjoy a fun, hands-on week as they learn about cooking, kitchen utensils, fruits and vegetables, where our food comes from, and the important roles of bakers and chefs.

Our Bible story will be John 6:1–14, where Jesus feeds the 5,000. As we learn about this amazing miracle, we’ll discover that Jesus provides for our needs and that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference when placed in God’s hands.

We can’t wait for a week full of learning, creativity, and fun!

🦁🐒Where the Wild Things Are 🫎🦋

This week, we are going on a wild adventure as we explore God’s amazing creations!

Our Bible story is Daniel 6, where we’ll learn how God protected Daniel in the lions’ den and how we can trust Him no matter what. Throughout the week, we’ll talk about courage, faith, and how God is always with us.

Our theme is Wild Animals! Children will discover fascinating land, sky, and water animals while learning about the different places they live, including the safari, forests, jungles, rivers, and oceans. We’ll enjoy hands-on activities, crafts, stories, songs, sensory play, and fun facts about many of God’s incredible creatures.

We can’t wait for another exciting week of learning, exploring, and growing together as we celebrate the wonderful world God created! 🐆🐅
