⭐️ Cudas Unhooked Club Week 9 ⭐️

Today we broke another attendance record, and the Coronado Community United Methodist Church volunteers showed up ready! Cindy, Cheryl, Bill, and Sandy fed 37 students a tasty meal of meatballs, baked ziti, cookies, and more. Thank you for this monthly gift; it blesses our program, and we know members look forward to it every time.

With so many new members and students checking out what we do, today was the perfect day to catch up. We talked about what we offer and what we expect, then we had some fun. We played a version of bingo where the kids had to find someone in the room who matched the description in a box. For example, who has a summer birthday, who has been in a school play, who has the same middle initial as you, who loves country music, who puts ketchup on their eggs, and more!

Many kids got bingo quickly, but we encouraged them to keep going to fill more boxes. They learned fun facts about other students and, most importantly, learned some names! We have more fun planned to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and strengthen our club's sense of community. Thank you for following along on our journey this school year.

⭐️ Cudas Unhooked Club Week 8 ⭐️

Last week, we welcomed Stephanie Ford, the President and CEO of the SE Volusia Chamber of Commerce, to the classroom to talk about leadership. In addition to leading the discussion, she generously provided lunch. Thank you, Stephanie!

Stephanie shared her unique background, how she has always stepped up to lead, how she found herself in NSB, and why she loves living here. She led our members through an exercise to help them identify what kind of leader they are. The long and short of it is that we can all lead, and knowing our leadership style helps us find roles we enjoy and can lead most effectively.

Maybe you can tell from the pictures that we had quite a crowd... it was our biggest meeting ever, with 36 students in attendance! Thank you to the counseling staff, teachers, and friends for referring students who are excited to learn, grow, and be a part of the community and the support we offer.
