💥Another Big Solar Flare Today!
Early today, sunspot 4274 blasted out an X4 solar flare. It caused a brief radio blackout over the Indian Ocean and also sent a CME (a burst of solar material) into space.
This CME might give Earth a glancing hit on Nov. 16, which could create moderate geomagnetic storms (G1–G2) and some nice auroras in high latitudes.

🔭 Uranus at Its Brightest
Uranus shines all night near Ta**us, reaching its closest point to Earth this year (just over 18 AU away). Grab binoculars to spot this faint, blue-green dot at magnitude 5.6.

🌙🔴 Moon & Mars Make a Scene
Shortly after sunset, look to the horizon for the Moon and Mars side by side. The Moon, a fresh crescent at just 2% brightness, will sit near bright Mars, an eye-catching pairing against the autumn sky.

⭐ Alpha Monocerotid Meteor Shower
This rare, unpredictable shower could send fast, bright meteors across the sky. Activity peaks tonight, though streaks are possible all week. Look for “shooting stars” racing from Monoceros (the Unicorn constellation) at speeds of 65 km/s.
