🎶 IONA PREP ALUMNI: DAY IN THE LIFE 🎬

Our Alumni: Day in the Life series continues with the multi-talented, Marco Calabro!

During his time at Iona Prep, Marco made a lasting impact on our Fine Arts program, bringing creativity, passion, and leadership to our community. His dedication to the arts helped showcase the incredible talent that exists beyond the classroom and athletic fields at Iona Prep.

Now a student at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Marco continues to pursue his passion for music and build upon the foundation he established as a Gael!

Marco’s journey is another reminder that being a Gael means discovering your passions, embracing your talents, and leaving a legacy that inspires those who follow.

Keep on rockin’, Marco! 🤘 🎸

Our Gaels brought their competitive spirit to campus today for Iona Prep’s annual Olympic Day.

Students came together to represent their houses in a full day of games and challenges, putting their teamwork and school pride on display. From competing in events to cheering on their teammates, our Gaels embraced a favorite Prep tradition and the chance to spend the day together as brothers.

Thank you to our students, faculty, and staff for making Olympic Day another memorable day at the Prep!

Live, Jesus, In Our Hearts, Forever!

When in Rome? A handful of Gaels were there to celebrate the ordinations of Jack Kristensen '18 and Ian Mendoza ‘18 to the Diaconate at St. Peter's Basilica following their studies at the Pontifical North American College. The full photo includes the Rev. William Mendoza '14, School Chaplain Rev. Justin Cinnante, O.Carm., with Christopher Condon '18, Assistant Director of Campus Ministry Ryan Murphy '18, and seminarian David Mendoza '23 supporting as altar servers. We couldn't be prouder of all these Gaels, but especially Jack and Ian for growing in their leadership of the faith.

Today just so happens to be ☕, but what really perks us up is the that spans grade levels. As part of our ongoing literacy program at the Lower School, our 7th Graders stopped in to read to our 2nd Graders, reinforcing our emphasis on critical reading and analysis skills.

If you've got an elementary-aged son, we invite you to give a critical reading of Iona Preparatory School. We understand boys, and it's our analysis that your son could thrive in our supportive environment of academic curiosity, physical development, spiritual understanding and social growth.

Discover the at our Oct. 21 Open House from 6 - 8 p.m. for prekindergarten at age 4 through 8th Grade!

This weekend, 18 Edmund Rice Christian Brother schools from around the world will gather in New Jersey for the annual . But before departing for the retreat center, a half dozen toured Iona Prep and Iona University to experience a day in North American Christian Brother schools.

This afternoon we were overjoyed to welcome our brother and sister from St. John's Christian Brothers College in Capetown, South Africa; Ardscoil na Mara in Tramore, Ireland; Fe y Alegria in Lima, Peru; Colegio Stella Maris in Montevideo, Uruguay; Colegio Cardenal Newman in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Damien Memorial High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.

It was so inspiring to hear the exchange of languages, the sharing of foods and favorite sports, and the Edmund Rice Advocacy and Catholic faith that unites us all. Save maybe the greatest fútbol player of all time...there was no settling that debate 🤣. But a deftly-placed piano in the Verni theater, sweet vocals from South Africa and some Journey lyrics definitely brought everyone together!

Named in honor of Robert J. Sexton ’47, the award celebrates young men who embody academic excellence, leadership, character, involvement, and service to others—qualities Michael demonstrated throughout his years at Iona Prep.
