Did you know having your account information ready can help our dispatchers locate your service faster?

When you report an outage, please have your account number, member name, and service address available. If you have your Map Location numbers, those can be helpful, too! This information helps our dispatchers identify your location and get the right crews headed your way.

All of this information can be found on your electric bill. We recommend keeping a copy of your bill somewhere easy to find or writing down your account information so it's ready when you need it.

A little preparation can make a BIG difference when the lights go out!

When was the last time you checked your A/C filter? With Louisiana heat in full swing, your air conditioner is already working hard. A dirty filter can make it work even harder.

A quick filter check can help:
• Keep air moving efficiently through your home
• Help your A/C run more smoothly
• Reduce the amount of energy your system uses
• Keep dust and dirt from building up in your system
• Help your home stay comfortable

Take a minute today to check your filter. If it’s dirty, replace it. It’s a small thing that can make a difference—especially during these hot summer months!

It was a beautiful morning filled with prayer, fellowship, and an opportunity to come together as a community. We are grateful to the Pointe Coupee Rotary Club for bringing people together and creating opportunities to strengthen our community.

At PC Electric, we’re proud to support events that bring our community together and make Pointe Coupee Parish a better place to live, work, and serve.

Thank you to the Pointe Coupee Rotary Club for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful morning!

Before you dig, plant, build, or start that outdoor project, call 811 first!

Calling 811 helps you find out where underground utility lines are located before you put a shovel in the ground. It’s a simple step that can help prevent injuries, service interruptions, and costly damage.

Back to School Alert! 🎒🚌 Let's Keep Louisiana's Kids Safe!
School is back in session across Louisiana this week! That means more school buses on the road, excited kids at bus stops, and active school zones during morning and afternoon commutes.
Please keep these Louisiana School Bus Laws (La. R.S. 32:80) in mind to keep everyone safe:
1. The 30-Foot Rule: You MUST stop at least 30 feet back from a school bus loading or unloading students when its stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing. Do not proceed until the bus moves or signals turn off.
2. Two-Lane & Multi-Lane Roads: Traffic in both directions must stop unless separated by a physical median or barrier. (Note: A shared center turning lane does NOT count as a physical median—on 2-lane or 3-lane roads with a center turn lane, both sides must stop!)
3. School Zones & Hands-Free: Hands off the phones! Louisiana law prohibits handheld device use in active school zones. Obey the reduced speed limits (typically 15–20 MPH).
4. Watch Bus Stops: Children can be unpredictable near stops. Slow down, avoid distractions, and always yield to pedestrians.
Let's do our part to protect our students as they head back to the classroom! 🍎✨

Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

With temperatures soaring, we wanted to do something a little sweet for our hardworking crew. Today, we treated our employees to chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches as a small way to help them cool off after spending long hours working in the Louisiana heat.

We’re incredibly thankful for the dedication of our team, who work every day—rain or shine, hot or cold—to keep the lights on for our members. We hope this sweet treat brought a few smiles and a little relief from the summer heat!

Be sure to thank a lineworker or field employee the next time you see them. They truly earn it!

PC Electric was incredibly proud to see Abigail Martin, Louisiana’s Youth Leadership Council (YLC) representative, represent our cooperative at the ALEC Awards Banquet last night.

Guests had the opportunity to hear Abigail share why she entered the contest for an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., and how the experience impacted her. She did an outstanding job representing both herself and PC Electric.

Be sure to look for Abigail’s full story in the next issue of Connections magazine.

Congratulations again, Abigail! We are so proud of you and all you’ve accomplished!

As Tropical Storm Bertha continues to move through the Gulf, our crews are closely monitoring the forecast and preparing to respond if outages occur.

While we hope for the best, we want our members to be prepared as well.

Now is a great time to:
✔️ Charge phones and backup battery packs.
✔️ Have flashlights and extra batteries ready.
✔️ Stock up on water and other essentials.
✔️ Stay informed by monitoring local weather updates.

If outages occur, please report them as soon as it is safe to do so. Our crews will begin restoring power as quickly and safely as conditions allow.

Stay safe, stay prepared, and know that we're here when you need us.
