Last Try It Tuesday for the school year: MUSHROOMS! Not any mushrooms! Fresh Blue Oyster Mushrooms from in Nerstrand, MN! So happy we found these amazing addition to our Try It Tuesday menu this year!

⭐ For the month of May, we will be highlighting School Food Service teams from all over the state, and today's shoutout goes to Hillside Elementary (School District of New Richmond)!

This team goes above and beyond every day. They create such a welcoming environment for all students and their effort goes above and beyond expectations continuously.

This amazing group pulled off the ultimate picnic menu for the Hillside Elementary Picnic Event on Friday! Our entire department plus amazing volunteers get a kudos for this day! Special kudos to the Hillside kitchen team!

Try It Tuesday: Artichokes!!!!!! For April we created a warm artichoke dip for kids to try! Of course it was amazing!!!!!! YUM!

Bring the whole family and join us for a FREE Farm2School BBQ Party at New Richmond High School on 5/6 4:00-6:00 p.m. Celebrate local food with delicious eats and meet the farmers who grow and raise it. It’s a great chance to connect with the community and learn more about where our food comes from. We hope to see you there!

Not all Try It Tuesdays prove to be successful! Today was one of those days! We now know Aronia Berries will not be added to our menus in the future!

Jokes aside, we do love providing the opportunity for our students to be adventurous eaters! Even when it’s a little scary or a little icky!

Maybe an Aronia Berry farmer out there has a tip for us next time?!

Paperjack Elementary students getting to enjoy a well deserved treat at lunch this week! Paperjack is our smallest school, but showed their strength when they blew away the Penny Wars competition last week! They raised over $1,200.00 for our district’s Happy Kids Backpack Program! Go PJ! 💥💪

Thank you Beth from Utecht’s Home Grown Pork for visiting us at Starr Elementary this morning. Beth and our amazing Starr team served French Toast Bites with Pork Sausage Links from her farm here in New Richmond! We have been serving Utecht sausage weekly on all of our breakfast menus for several years! Thank you Utecht Family!!!!!!

Of course we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at lunch! This time with a 100% fruit juice slushie treat! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 ☘️
