GALAXY DONUTS!

We wrapped up our summer Tiger Pack cooking classes with an OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD adventure! 🚀

Our young chefs teamed up with a partner to create their very own edible galaxies! They started with a deep-space glaze, added swirls of bright blue, cosmic purple, and nebula pink, and then carefully dipped their Little John donuts to reveal a totally unique galaxy design.

The best part? No two galaxies looked the same!

Each chef created FOUR Galaxy Donuts to box up and take home — although we’re not making any promises that all four actually made it home!

It was colorful, creative, a little messy, and SO much fun — the perfect way to end our summer cooking adventures!

Tater Tot Hotdish — warm, hearty & kid-approved comfort food!

Carrot Cake Cream Cheese Stuffed Muffins — soft carrot cake muffins with a sweet cream cheese surprise inside!

Frozen Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cereal POPS — a cool, crunchy, chocolatey treat that’s just as fun to eat as it is to make!

Recipe testing is one of our favorite ways to keep things fresh, fun, and delicious for our students.

Who says we have to wait until winter for a little snow-day fun?! Our young Tiger Pack chefs cooled things down during our Winter in July Cooking Class!

3rd–5th Grade created delicious Blizzard Parfaits, complete with the cutest marshmallow snowmen!

PreK–Kindergarten got the best of BOTH seasons with their Summer/Winter Mini Pies!

We mixed a little sunshine with a little snow and, of course, a whole lot of FUN in the kitchen!

🕵️‍♀️🔎 MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! 🔎🕵️‍♂️

Our 2nd Grade Culinary Intelligence Agents (CIA) reported for duty today for Operation: Carrot Cake!

Armed with secret decoder sheets, measuring cups, mixing bowls, and teamwork, our young agents accepted a top-secret mission: recover the stolen carrot cake recipe from the notorious Recipe Raiders!

Throughout the mission, students:
🥕 Decoded a secret recipe using spy clues.
🧁 Measured and mixed ingredients like professional chefs.
🔍 Practiced important kitchen safety while working together as a team.
🍰 Baked delicious carrot cakes from scratch.
📚 Discovered that cooking is full of science, math, reading, and problem-solving!

But the mission wasn't over...

The agents returned for Mission #2: Operation Frosting! They decorated their cakes before earning their official Mission Completion Certificates, proving they had successfully defeated the Recipe Raiders once and for all!

Tomorrow, our School Nutrition Team will proudly serve these delicious homemade carrot cakes to every student during lunch! 🧡🖤

Learning has never been so delicious! We are incredibly proud of our newest class of Culinary Intelligence Agents and can't wait for the entire school to enjoy the results of their hard work.

It takes more than a recipe to feed a community—it takes teamwork, dedication, and a whole lot of muscle!

This week our New Richmond School Nutrition Team is preparing 1,200 servings of our homemade taco meat for our Summer Meal Hubs. Every batch starts with locally sourced ground beef, is seasoned with our homemade New Richmond Taco Seasoning, and is cooked, packaged, and prepared with care by our incredible staff.

From mixing our signature seasoning... to stirring giant kettles/braising pans filled with 260 POUNDS of ground beef ... to carefully packaging each meal... every step is done with one goal in mind:

❤️Making sure kids in our communities have access to a delicious, nutritious meal all summer long.

Take a look behind the scenes at what it really takes to prepare 1,200 servings of tacos. We're proud to support local agriculture, cook from scratch whenever possible, and serve our students with the same care we'd want for our own families.

A huge thank you to our amazing nutrition team for the hard work, strong arms, and big hearts that make it happen every week!

As part of our Summer Food Service Pilot, our team is committed to making sure every child has access to nutritious meals—even when transportation is a challenge.

In addition to our Meal Hubs, we offer Friday home meal deliveries for families with transportation limitations. Every Friday, our amazing Middle School Lead, Carla, makes an average of 10 delivery stops, helping provide meals to 20+ children. We know there is a need in our community, and we are doing everything we can to help meet it.

This week, Carla had a very special volunteer riding along—her grandson, Benstrum.

When asked what their favorite part of delivery day was:

Carla: "Knowing that I am helping families."
Benstrum: "Hanging out with my Nana!"

Moments like these remind us that summer meals are about more than food—they're about caring for our community, building connections, and making a difference one delivery at a time.

Once again serving thousands of meals this week and doing it in some extreme hot conditions! Thank you to all the families who waited/will wait in lines this week. We are trying to keep safety top of mind with rotating staff and training takes time! Your patience with wait times and “pilot year” pinch points is greatly appreciated!

All of your thanks and smiles truly make this all worth it!

These were used in the Tiger Pack cooking classes this week! Kiddos got to roll out their own dough and cut out their own stars! However, the work behind the scenes was no small task! From testing to hand cutting & pre baking hundreds of little stars!!!!! GO TEAM!!!!!!!!!!😁⭐️💪
