YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE BIG TO BE BIG TO YOU. ❤️🐴

Sometimes we’re way too quick to downplay our own success.

“It was only a small show.”
“There weren’t many entries.”
“It was just a class.”
“It wasn’t a major win.”

But here’s the thing…

You don’t have to qualify your happiness.

If you worked hard for it, if your horse gave you everything they had, if you walked out of that arena knowing you accomplished something you’ve been working toward...that matters.

Maybe it was your first blue ribbon.
Maybe it was your first clean pattern.
Maybe it was finally getting that maneuver you’ve struggled with for months.
Maybe you simply walked away thinking, “That was the best we’ve ever done.”

Celebrate it. 🥰

Because you never know how much work, disappointment, sacrifice, or persistence went into someone else’s “little” victory.

Five horses or fifty.
A buckle or a ribbon.
A big show or a local one.

Progress is progress. And a win is still a win.

There is enough room in this horse world for all of us to cheer for our own accomplishments ~ and genuinely cheer for someone else’s, too.

So don’t shrink your moment to make it seem more acceptable to everyone else.

Be proud. Be happy. Celebrate your horse. ❤️

𝙉𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙡 𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚? 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨.

Your horse might not be nervous.

You might be making them nervous.

I see this all the time.

You’re waiting your turn with two hands on the reins, leaning over the horn, gripping, waiting outside the arena…

Your horse starts getting antsy.

So you get nervous.

They get more worked up.

You get even more nervous.

And now you’re BOTH a wreck before you ever make it to the gate.

Try this:
1️⃣ 𝙋𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙞𝙣. Reach back with your other hand and pet your horse on the butt.

It naturally makes you sit deeper and brings your weight back instead of leaning over the horn. Your hand on the rein gets softer, your body relaxes, and your horse feels it.

Walk around like nothing is happening.

2️⃣ 𝙒𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙤𝙚𝙨.

Yep. Your toes.

If you’re nervous and your brain is running 100 miles an hour, start wiggling your toes inside your boots. Focus on moving them individually.

It sounds ridiculous.

But it gives your brain something small and physical to focus on instead of thinking about your run, the timer, the crowd, or everything that could go wrong.

And sometimes the best thing you can do for your horse…

𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩.

Your horse feels your body language.

So if you’re tense, gripping, leaning forward and thinking GO GO GO…

Don’t be surprised when your horse starts thinking the same thing.

How to Tie a Bridle Knot

A "bridle knot" is neat, flat, and easy to tie — perfect for bridles, reins, and more.

Steps:
(Think: Top down, then round and round.)

1️⃣ Thread your tie leather through the holes. Leave the bottom strand slightly longer.

2️⃣ Fold the top strand down.

3️⃣ Wrap the bottom strand under the top strand.

4️⃣ Repeat step #3 until you're out of room.

That’s it! Simple, secure, and you're ready to ride. 🐎
