Extended School Year has officially come to an end for our Summit Speech School preschoolers!

One of the highlights of our final week was being invited by our neighbors at Sproutlings Childcare Center to join their Dinosaur Day. Our preschoolers had so much fun getting up close with some prehistoric visitors!

It was a wonderful way to wrap up a summer filled with listening, learning, and lots of fun. 🦕🦖💙

Here's a sneak peek at Summit Speech School's Preschool Class of 2026 before tomorrow's celebration. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and can't wait to cheer them on as they take the next step in their journey.

Three Clinton Township fourth graders who receive services through Summit Speech School's Itinerant Program recently stepped into the role of teacher, helping their classmates and educators better understand hearing loss.

Lucas F., Aubrey S., and Isabelle M. led an engaging presentation that included a listening challenge activity, an introduction to audiograms, and a demonstration of their hearing technology. Classmates also had the opportunity to experience sound in a unique way through bone conduction and Amos Tasty Sounds lollipops.

Most importantly, these students demonstrated confidence, leadership, and self-advocacy as they shared their experiences and answered questions from their peers.

We are so proud of Lucas, Aubrey, and Isabelle for helping to build understanding and inclusion within their school community. 💙

Digging, planting, exploring, and learning! 🌱

Our preschoolers enjoyed some hands on learning in the school garden, where curiosity blossomed alongside the plants. Experiences like these help build language, confidence, and a love of discovery one seed at a time.

The Game Truck made a stop at Summit Speech School on Saturday May 30! It was wonderful to see some of our older Itinerant students and alumni connecting with one another. Experiences like this help to build friendships and develop a strong sense of identity within a community where students are understood and supported.
