15 years ago, today I committed what I like to call "my greatest act of sanity in my greatest moment of clarity" when I married my Sweet Pamela Hughes. She is the best example of Jesus I will ever find on this side of eternity. Our marriage hasn't been always easy; we find ourselves working on ourselves to be the spouse the other needs. We're not perfect by any measure, but we're perfect for each other. She's always a blessing to me, and I do my best to be a blessing to her. I cannot imagine life without her; the whole of us is truly greater than the sum of the parts we are separately. Thank you for being my biggest fan and cheerleader, and especially clapping the loudest at my shows when I entertain in public. I love you, Sweetheart!

A belated thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday this week!
At 60, or as mothers of small children would say, 720 months, I have met my major developmental milestones. I can feed and dress myself, tie my shoes, and use the bathroom all by myself. I also know my major body parts, letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and my sight words. I also know that people are people and can be friends, but NOT FOOD, which means I’m ready for school.
What I find most interesting about this list that at my age, much of what I just described would be considered by healthcare professionals as “activities of daily living”. Perspective is everything, isn’t it?
