📚✨ Help Our Deer Park Bucks Keep Reading Strong! ✨📚
At Deer Park Elementary, we have always been focused on strong foundations—because we know that reading is fundamental to student success. One of the ways we support this is by purchasing Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) books each year for our students.
✅ We provide each intermediate classroom with a SSS set (one per 3–5 classroom)
✅ We provide each primary pod with a set (shared across the team)
Note: In our primary grades, these books are often used as class read-a-louds, as some titles are above students’ independent reading levels—ensuring all students can experience rich, engaging texts.
💡 Why this matters: Reading common books across classrooms allows us to:
Build a shared, schoolwide reading culture
Engage students in meaningful, standards-aligned discussions
Strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills
Increase student engagement with high-interest texts
Create excitement and connection around reading across grade levels
🎉 Incentive Alert:
Intermediate students who read all 15 SSYRA books are invited to a special end-of-year celebration party
Primary classes that read all 15 SSYRA books together will earn a fun ice cream party during their lunch time! 🍦
💰 This year, we are reaching out to our community for support for this supplemental program that we do as a school.
We are seeking businesses, partners, and individuals who would like to help sponsor our students’ access to books.
💵 Sponsorship Opportunities:
Sponsor all SSYRA books for the whole school: $1,970.56
Sponsor one intermediate classroom set: $143.35 (10 sets needed)
Sponsor one primary pod set: $179.02 (3 sets needed)
🌟 All sponsors will be recognized!
Your name (or business) will be displayed on the book baskets in each classroom, and we will proudly share your support with our Deer Park community, so everyone knows who is investing in our students.
📖 How to Help:
Contact school administration, OR
Purchase directly through Rycor
Every contribution—big or small—helps us continue building strong readers and a strong future for our Deer Park Bucks. Next year, our schools’ theme will be camping theme with the slogan “Learning is an Adventure.” We want to ensure that reading is the easiest and most exciting way to take an adventure, so please help us by supporting our students!🦌💙
