Dear Gulf High Buccaneer Alumni -

This is to let you know that I will shutting down this Gulf High Alumni Invasion page as of noon tomorrow - January 15, 2021.....

I had left this page open for all of those Alumni who were part of one of the largest gathering of GHS Alumni ever (October 2008)..... Also, with the hope that I would be able to announce the return of Jay Fulmer as GHS' new football coach.......

Unfortunately, for the 2nd time in 3 years he was passed over by the Administration and the Athletic Director at Gulf High...... This is extremely disappointing to me personally and I know to a number of GHS Alumni who remember all the wonderful things that Jay and his coaches did to help all of his Student-Athlete's while at Gulf High.... Especially, how he worked tirelessly to get them post High School opportunities in college or in life......

I am forever grateful for what he did for our son Matthew in 2008 (graduated from Gulf High) in shaping him into the young man he is today - A police officer in Leavenworth, KS..... It is amazing what impact coaches and key teachers have on our children - now young adults......

I remember back to my days at GHS in 1975 and how my coaches helped me (Dr. Kevin White, Jerry Young, Terry Graham, Coach Ed Campbell & Paul Girardi) get to college & then back to my hometown to give back to my Community & School....

It is disappointing that today's players at GHS will miss out on having those coaches/role models - life time supporter to help them on their way into life after high school....

Here is hoping that the "New" coach will have success and be able to make US competitive again.......

I was confident that Jay Fulmer could make that happen.......

In "LIFE" just like in our playing career (whether high school or college) or our involvement with causes that enrich our lives -

"We have to recognize when it was over and time to move on"

For me that happen today - I will always be a proud BUCCANEER !!

I wish everyone a Great 2021 !!!!!

PS: Below are some photos from the 2008 GHS Alumni Invasion Event - Enjoy

Thank you for your consideration!!!!

Let's pass along and help make memories of our high school years at GHS for the Buccaneers of today:

• Friday Night Lights – If you have forgotten just listen to Kenny Chesney’s – The Boys of Fall or Coach
• All our friends and family cheering you’re the BUC’s for that win!
• The hangouts afterwards in all our favorite spots around NPR
• Remember the Pep Rally’s – Spirit Week –
• Homecoming and that annual Homecoming parade down Grand Blvd in New Port Richey

Well, we can all write a personal check, ask our local businesses to help the GHS football team, ask our extended GHS friends/parents, to help us raise $10,000 over the next 10 days (by August 10, 2017) which will change the lives of these young men.

Please consider what you can do for Gulf High School.

Thank you again....
