We will see our 5th grade families today for the final 5th grade clap out at 3:15. Just park and stand along the sidewalk in the parking lot. You will check out your child with their teacher once clap out is done. See you soon!

Hey there Cypress Cubs! It’s Ms. Krapfl with your final weekly school news for this year.

We have our last 4 days of school, and the goal is to end on a positive note with some fun sprinkled into each classroom as we head out for the summer. Be sure to check with your child’s teacher as each classroom wraps up the year a little differently.

Remember there is no school Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

Tuesday is kindergarten game day and ice cream social.
Also on Tuesday, both 5th grade and Kindergarten will walk over to the Wendell Krinn Gymnasium to practice their moving up ceremonies.

We end the day on Tuesday with 5th graders having their final official clap out at the end of the day. Our car loop parking lot will be empty so that the 5th grade families can park and stand all along the car loop sidewalk in anticipation of your child’s final exit. We ask that ALL other families that are coming for normal pick-up beginning at 3:50p.m. stay out on Campus Drive, leaving our car loop open for the 5th grade families only. We will empty the parking lot by 3:50 and get our normal car loop rolling on time.

On Wednesday it’s super important for all 5th graders going to Busch Gardens to arrive in the school car loop by 8:15 in the morning.

Kindergarten will be having a fun afternoon water play on Wednesday and they must have a change of dry clothes in order to participate. You can put their bathing on under clothing to make it easier for the teachers.

On Thursday we have the 5th grade promotion ceremony and Kindergarten moving up ceremony at Wendell Krinn High School.
The last school day for 1st through 4th grades will be Friday the 29th.

We have about 15 more spots for our current 4th graders to attend a wonderful summer STEM camp for 3 weeks from June 8th through the 25th, Monday through Thursday. If you are interested in signing up your 4th grader please reach out to Mrs. Lovelle and she will send you the invitation. This is a first come first serve opportunity.

Check those backpacks for your child’s next year supply list as we are sending those home with all students.

Meet the Teach Day for the 26-27 school year will be Monday August 10th at our current site 7520 Orchid Lake Road. The very first day of school will be Thursday August 13th.

Wishing everyone a safe summer filled with lots of family memories made with your loved ones.

Hey there Cypress Cubs! It’s Ms. Krapfl with your weekly school news and just a few more messages left for the 2025-2026 school year!

We are done with all after school clubs for this year.

All boys and girls will go home their normal way for the remainder of the year.

Tuesday is the big State Science test for our 5th graders. They need that good night’s sleep on Monday and arrive on time.

Yearbooks are coming home on Tuesday in the Tuesday folders, so parents be sure to check those backpacks. We only have about 20 yearbooks left for sale, and you can send in $20 cash to the office if your child still wants one. It is first come, first serve basis.

Our first 5th grade event coming up for families to participate is their final clap out to take pictures as your child walks through the gate of elementary school one last time. The clap out will start at 3:20 on May 26th. Families can park in the car loop parking and wait all along the car loop sidewalk for your child’s final departure at Cypress Elementary.

5th grade will go on their adventure to Busch Gardens on May 27th and must be dropped off at our car loop by 8:15 with breakfast being provided.

Our final event for 5th grade will be their Promotion Ceremony on May 28th at Wendell Krinn High School. Doors to the gymnasium will open at 12:45 for parents to get seated and our ceremony begins at 1:00 p.m.

Also, on the 28th is the Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony, which will begin at 2:30 at Krinn High School gymnasium with families able to enter beginning at 2:15.

Lastly, a quick reminder that May 25th is a holiday in observance of Memorial Day and therefore no school.

Thank you for your continued partnerships and wishing all our cubs a lovely rest of your weekend.

Hey there Cypress Cubs! Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms, aunties, grammies, and those who serve in the motherly roles each and every day!

There are 14 days left for this school year and all boys and girls can finish strong!

This week our Intermediate Cubs will take their state math test. Tuesday 3rd grade needs to have their best attendance for their math test; 4th grade will test on Wednesday and finally 5th grade takes math on Thursday.

This is the last week for Mrs. Lovelle and Mrs. Wicklein’s math camps on Monday and Tuesday.

This Wednesday we have our food truck arriving from Tampa Bay Feeding Project. Families, with gas prices climbing we know expenses continue to climb as well. If you need help please call the office to visit the food pantry.

Also on Wednesday our littlest cubs will be going to Glazer Museum on their field trip. Parents must be approved volunteers to go and it would be arranged through the kindergarten teacher.
Friday is intermediate popcorn day and our 5th graders will have a game day as their reward for working hard.

Get your yearbook yet? Well, we have less than 30 left for purchase. You can send cash with your child to purchase your yearbook. First come, first serve!

Parents are you looking for summer learning? Be sure to ask about your child continuing to do Lexia for reading, doing Beanstack reading challenges, and continuing their math Success Maker intervention in 2nd through 5th grades. We will be sending home digital summer packets as well, if you would like a paper copy please let your child’s teacher know so we continue to work together to focus on learning.

Mark your calendars for May 25th as a day off for Memorial Day.
Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of your weekend!
