Hey there Cypress Cubs! Wishing everyone an amazing Sunday.

We kick off the week with reading chapter 2 of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. On Friday we had a great trivia question from chapter one and Ms. Huntoon’s class was the winner of a class set of blow pops because they knew Mr. Bucket worked in a factory where he made the toothpaste caps. Help your child read chapter 2 this week so they are ready for trivia Fridays!

This week we kick off Progress Monitoring State Tests Session 1, also known as PM1 FAST testing. 1st grade will take reading on Monday, Kindergarten reading on Tuesday, 1st grade math on Wednesday, and Kindergarten math on Thursday. We need boys and girls to do their best so they can continue to grow as learners all year long.

After school on Tuesday our PTO meeting is in the media center. We welcome anyone to join the PTO and come to the meeting after our car loop finishes around 4:15. On Friday it’s the very first intermediate popcorn day so be sure to buy those passes in your Pasco ONE app or send in cash for however many bags you would like to come home.

Inviting any parent and/or caregiver to our annual Title I meeting in the media center on Friday morning at 8:45 AM to hear how we spent our Title I federal funds this year. I will be sharing our plan and the way we support student learning.

Good Sunday Cypress Cubs! Hoping everyone had a great weekend! We started our school year strong on Thursday and Friday, setting the stage with routines. It’s a full 5 day week of learning this week. We will be conducting a lot of baseline assessments in all grade levels to continue our path for every student to have the most learning this year!
Mrs. Lovelle and I met with all grade levels to set the stage for positive behavior, and our hope is that all students focus on maximizing learning during both semesters. We are asking that students come to school every day, and those in attendance 95% or greater will experience a fun reward each semester. Be sure to ask your child about the bounce houses and a water day if they meet this attendance goal each semester.
Also, this week we will practice and learn many different types of safety drills such as stranger danger and fire drills. This is also something to talk about at home as a family.
Friday will be the first primary popcorn day and if you are new to Cypress then you won’t want to miss the chance to have fresh movie theater popped popcorn come home on Fridays throughout the school year. You can buy the popcorn pass that pays for all year or you can send a dollar cash for each bag you want with your child to turn into the teacher. Boys and girls love popcorn Fridays at Cypress!
The Cypress staff was able to go visit the Sweet Bay Court Cypress remodeling project and the school is going to be beautiful when we return in January! Check out our page for some great pictures. The contractors are working hard and as we get closer to the return date there will be many details shared with families. Thank you for your patience and support through this unique school year. We will continue to work together to make it an amazing year at both sites.

Hey there Cypress Cubs! Welcome back to the first day of school! Here are some details to make tomorrow the best first day ever!
We are kicking off the school year at 7520 Orchid Lake Road this Thursday August 13th. Our start time on normal days is 9:25 a.m. and for the first day of school only we will start allowing students into classrooms beginning at 9:00 a.m tomorrow morning. Families may walk children directly to the classroom on the first day only.
Parking is a challenge at this site so please remember to be patient and kind so everyone has a great start to their day.
Our district Superintendent Dr. Legg will be on campus to greet students and families as well.
Something else to keep in mind is our 6 buses will still be coming to campus on the first day and every day, and the cars should never block the bus loop entrance or exit, even on the first day. There is signage to help with this and it’s super important to be safety conscious on the first day as there are families crossing areas, vehicles moving all around, and a lot of first day of school busyness happening all over Pasco County.
You are welcome to bring supplies with you Thursday and remember that every student at Cypress gets free breakfast and lunch. A critical component is to ensure that your child's teacher knows exactly how to send your child home Thursday as we know there can be confusion due to the first day drop offs.

Cypress staff went on an excursion today to see our new home at Sweet Bay Court! It was so exciting to see our school remodel. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard on this project for our students, staff and community! We can’t wait to return for good in January!! 🎉🥰💚💛💚💛💚
