Happy weekend Cubs! Welcome to October!

It’s chapter 8 week for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

Calling all dads and other primary care givers that would like to attend our afternoon All Pro Dads gathering on Wednesday the 7th beginning at 4:20 p.m. Refreshments will be provided and we have partnered with the Department of Justice to have some raffle prizes for those that attend this session. Hope to see you in the media center on Wednesday afternoon.

Friday is popcorn day for our K through 2nd grade students so be sure to purchase those passes for the year and simplify your life a bit.

On Friday our boys and girls will have the opportunity to attend a reading reward for reading and logging their minutes in the Beanstack App on their Mypasco connect dashboard. Take this week to put in some extra time reading at home and it can be family reading together that gets logged as well.

I’ve attached a few documents to help you with school pictures.

Mark your calendars Cypress! There is no school on October 12th due to a teacher planning day to end quarter 1 of this year. Our first Early Release Day is October 28th where dismissal for ALL students in Pasco will happen 2 hours earlier, so our Cypress students will get on the bus and the car line starts at 1:50 p.m. All students must be picked up no later than 2:10 p.m. on October 28th, please make an appropriate plan for this day and communicate any big differences to your child’s teacher.

Also, Pack the Park event is finally here on October 24th in Sims Park. See below for all the fun that will be at the park and ways you can sign up to give back to the community. Don’t forget you can donate by going to the QR code and helping get me out of jail for a good cause! Bring your family and enjoy vendors, food trucks, Trunk or Treat, children's activities, raffles, 50/50, $5 Bingo, Family Feud, Dog Costume Contest and so much more. Meet with special guests: Spiderman, Mario and Luigi, Danny Go, and a live Mermaid
NEEDED FOR PACK THE PARK!

The Cypress Staff came together to celebrate Teacher and SRP of the Year. Nominated by their peers, our nominees represent all areas of our school community and can be proud to be recognized for the commitment they contribute to help our students learn and shine! Our nominees are Mrs. Wicklein, Mrs. Claudio, Ms. Scott, Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Martell, Mrs. Callegari, Ms. Leeper, Mrs. Londergan, and Ms. Wyllins.

Enrolled VPK - 5th graders receive:
9 free books each school year through fifth grade based on their interests. Reading activities families can use together to build reading confidence.

Families are you looking for a good cause to support? Each week non-perishable food is sent home with boys and girls in need to help feed them over the weekend. This is done across Pasco County and even at Cypress we have students benefitting. I have signed up to raise money for the October event called Pack the Park. Hey there Cypress Cubs, It's Ms. Krapfl with your weekly school news! Hoping everyone is enjoying some fresh weather! Just a reminder to use mosquito repellent as you are out and about outside to cut down on any illnesses.
We are moving into October and here is the monthly newsletter https://app.smore.com/n/vymnd It’s chapter 7 reading week for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! We have had many trivia winners to include Mrs. Livingston’s class, Ms. Huntoon’s class, and Ms. Wodstrchill’s class. Keep reading at home as it helps create a fun reason to read and great family memories!
On Tuesday we have a PTO meeting at 4:20 in the media center. If you are attending and would like your child to be a car rider, please let their teacher know so the change in dismissal can occur.
On Wednesday we have a new truck arriving to restock our food pantry. If you have need or can help unload and shelve the food, please call the school to get an anticipated arrival of the truck.
Join us on Friday to shower our custodial team with some love as it’s National Custodian Day. They clean the school inside and out and bring it back to life for a fresh start each day. Help us by having the boys and girls make a little card to show gratitude and to thank our team that’s in the cafeteria with them during lunch every day.
