Tuscarawas Judo Team

Today we made the trip to Avon, OH to compete in the 2026 North Coast/Ryozo Nakamura Memorial Judo Tournament.

We had a few first timers and a couple competing in multiple divisions. Large turnout for the team and great matches throughout the day. Our total team points put us 5th out of 31 teams.

After we finished up with promotions tonight, it was time for our totally planned out, highly organized, expertly refereed, and hard fought Turd Mountain Championship. Defending Turd-a-ment champion, Benjamin L White was able to retain. Brogan and Hunter came closest to dethroning the champ, earning a respectable 2nd and 3rd place finish and a well deserved photo op with the new trophy!

Tonight was our semi-regularly scheduled, sporadic, organized and chaotic, Turd Mountain Invitational Championship Tournament.

The new reigning Turd-a-ment Champion is none other than Benjamin L White!

Can’t wait to see who shows up and shows out for the next one. Time and date TBD…actually, we will probably just wing it and decide to have one someday with little notice.

Our judo team traveled to Brighton, MI today to compete in the Great Lakes Open Judo Championships. Everyone did well. We had some tough matches, some big wins, lots of lessons, tons of fun, and everyone is safe and healthy. Our team had the second most team points (63) out of 32 teams. Here’s our individual medal results:

Two members of our judo team traveled to Kettering, OH to compete in the 2025 Ohio Judo Championships today.

Both of them had some great matches and some good learning experiences!

Tonight was another end of session fun night for the junior team, followed by a couple rank promotions, and the Senior Team held another Turd Mountain Invitational tournament for an awesome trophy and temporary bragging rights.
