Founded on November 16, 2012 at SUNY New Paltz We became Incorporated on January 20, 2017.

Mu Iota Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated, Gamma Chapter, was founded at SUNY New Paltz on November 16, 2012. Mu Iota Upsilon was originally founded at SUNY Delhi College of Technology on May 2, 1999. We came to SUNY New Paltz with the same morals and values as our sisters in SUNY Delhi. Our name comes from "Las Mujeres Indiginas Unidas" in Spanish, which translates to "Indigenous Women United" in En

glish. As a multicultural sorority, we strive to be as diverse as possible. Our sisters are from all different places and from all different backgrounds, yet we come together as one. We are an off-campus based sorority.

Earlier this month sister volunteered with for two weeks doing disaster relief in Costal Bend, Texas. All Hands and Hearts is an amazing non-profit organization that is deals with immediate and long term response to natural disasters. Even after two years and all the media coverage has stopped, there are people whose homes that are still destroyed because of Hurricane Harvey.
