The Chrysalis Puppet Theater Workshop is enrolling now for fall classes for children and adults. We'll be offering two classes on Wednesdays, beginning September 10th and running through November 12.
Puppetry for Grandparents
Do you love making things for your grandchildren, but feel that your gifts can’t compete with their digital life? Stuck inside babysitting on a rainy day, without a clue of what you can do? Turn off the TV and engage your grandkids in the puppetry arts, creating memories and mayhem they’ll never forget!
In this class you’ll learn how to make delightful puppets with simple materials for children of all ages, even if you don’t consider yourself “crafty”. We will share ideas and strategies to make engaging puppets and puppet shows that will delight the most screen-captured child. We will leave with a collection of shadow puppets, rod and sock puppets, and found object puppets…and learn a variety of puppet show staging techniques to make your puppet show spring to life.

Introduction to Puppetry Ages PreK - 2nd Grade
This class is an introduction to puppetry arts for our youngest students. In this course children will create a variety of puppets to take home, including sock puppets, hand puppets, rod puppets, shadow puppets…we’ll even make a giant festival puppet together! We will tell tall tales with our new puppets, add music, lighting and sound effects, and create our own puppet theaters. Our 10 week series will end with a performance for family and friends at Roost Arts.
