7th graders in Mrs. Bartemus’ class started the new year by reflecting on 2022 and writing about their goals and ambitions for 2023. They narrowed down their resolution to just one word. After working with the word’s definition, synonyms, and reasons for choosing it, they then made their word into art!

This week, students used hexagonal thinking in order to find out what they share in common. Students thought critically in order to make connections between each other’s favorite foods, hobbies, book genres, and more! It was really cool to see how everyone can connect in some way! I hope to continue to use this thinking process during our reading units this year.
