🔧 Now Hiring: Maintenance Technician at the York Learning Center, York, PA

We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team! If you have experience in facility maintenance and take pride in keeping buildings and grounds safe, functional, and well-maintained, we encourage you to apply.

This full-time, year-round position is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, equipment repairs, and general facility upkeep.

Position Details:
• Full-time | 8 hours/day | 260 days/year
• Starting Pay: $22.59/hour
• Excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, PSERS retirement, life insurance, and access to the Lincoln Health & Wellness Center.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance experience (educational setting preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform physical work and lift heavy objects
• Willingness to obtain PA Department of Agriculture pesticide certification within one year (if applicable)

Learning, laughter, and lasting memories! 🦒

Last month, participants in Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12’s ELECT program from Franklin, Adams, and York counties came together for a special summer field trip to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park. Families enjoyed a day of fun, connection, and celebration as they recognized the hard work and achievements of expectant and parenting students throughout the year.

The Education Leading to Employment and Career Training (ELECT) program supports expectant and parenting mothers and fathers as they work toward earning a high school diploma or GED while building parenting skills, accessing resources, and preparing for employment or higher education.

Congratulations to our ELECT families on their successes!! We are proud to celebrate alongside you! 👏

This summer, Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 expanded its wheelchair-accessible transportation capabilities with the acquisition of new vans for York Learning Center and Franklin Learning Center.

These vehicles accommodate up to 9 passengers or a combination of students and 1-2 wheelchair positions, enhancing our ability to serve specialized programs.

LIU12 Transportation Services also provided comprehensive training for teachers and staff on wheelchair lift operation and securement.

We’re thrilled to keep moving forward into a new school year, together!

On Tuesday, nearly 900 Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 staff members came together at the Wyndham Gettysburg to kick off a new school year—and to celebrate what makes LIU12 so special: our people and our shared purpose. The morning featured inspiring stories from LIU staff, students and families whose lives have been impacted by the work we do every day.

Beginning today, we’ll be sharing highlights from the staff videos featured during our In-Service Program, showcasing the incredible impact LIU12 has across the communities we serve. These stories offer a glimpse into the difference our employees make every day for learners, families, schools and communities throughout Adams, Franklin and York counties.

We can’t wait to share their stories with you!

📢 Paraeducators, you don’t want to miss this!

Registration is still open for the 2026 Statewide Paraeducator Conference happening next week on August 18, 2026 (8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.)!

🔗 Important Registration Details:
• Each paraeducator must register individually using their own school email
• Your registration link is unique to you- please do not share
• Verification certificates (up to 5 hours) will be sent approximately 4 weeks after the event to registered participants only

About the Conference:
Hosted virtually by BLaST IU 17 in partnership with LIU 12 and CAIU 15, this engaging day includes:
- A dynamic keynote session
- Targeted breakout sessions focused on paraeducator competencies
- Practical strategies to support success in the classroom
- This event is VIRTUAL so you may attend from where you are!

Attendance Requirement:
Participants must attend the full day to receive 5 professional development hours
