We’re Hiring! The Public Interest Design Summer Fellowship provides TuSABE students an opportunity to spend 5 weeks with the Small Center team working on collaborative design projects for community partners. Apply Today!
Applications are due March 31st. The fellowship will run from May 27th to July 2nd and compensation is $4,000 pretax. 3rd year and above TuSABE students from all degree programs are eligible to apply. Please email a Letter of Interest (up to 400 words), resume, and portfolio (10 pages or less) as a PDF to [email protected]. Save the PDF file as “LastNameFirstName_PID2025” and put “PID Fellowship” in the subject line of the email.

That’s a wrap‼️ Last week we hosted for the See The Vision Expo, where we hosted 24 different organizations, artists & community groups. They invited residents, students. Faculty, etc… into the Small Center to celebrate generative and sustainable materials, makers and climate focused businesses in/around New Orleans!

We were happy to host Architecture students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this afternoon. We discussed community engagement methods and took a stroll to our most recent design build project nearby!
Over the past 20 years, the Center has trained 1200+ students, completed 170+projects, and supported 100+ partners working on issues ranging from affordable housing to food security across New Orleans and the region. We’re grateful for for their continued support and commitment to this work!

We asked some of our past partners to share a word about their time in collaboration with the Small Center. Our work with Ozanam Inn featured a covered outdoor space to accommodate safe and comfortable seating for its residents. Thanks again for choosing to work with us Renée Blanche and Ozanam Inn!!
