Today, we brought our InspireNOLA dads together for Breakfast for Dads, creating a space to connect, share a meal and celebrate the men who show up for our students and our schools in so many ways. 🫶

Our dads heard from school leaders and students who shared their perspectives on fatherhood, family and the impact that showing up can have on a child’s life. ✨

And we had plenty of laughs along the way, thanks to comedian Frank White, who kept the room laughing with jokes about the realities of raising kids, from homework to everything in between. 😂

To every dad, grandfather, father figure and mentor who continues to show up for our students, thank you. Your presence, support and encouragement make a difference, and we’re grateful to have you as part of the InspireNOLA family. 🩵

Here’s to the dads who keep showing up, keep cheering their kids on and, every now and then, have to figure out that homework right alongside them. 🔥

Sometimes the legacy you’re building reaches further than you ever imagined. 💭

For Chef Blake of Tasty Treats Truck, it started with her children. She wanted to build something for them, create a foundation for her family, and give them something they could carry forward. 👏

But along the way, that vision became bigger than her own family.

Chef Blake wants to be the woman young brown girls can look at and say, “I can do that, too.” She wants them to see someone who chased her dreams, built something of her own and made a space for herself in a world they might one day want to step into. 💕

That’s the legacy she’s building.

And her ultimate goal? Becoming a New Orleans staple. A name people know, a place people seek out and, just like the women and businesses who inspired her, something that becomes part of what makes this city special. 🏙️

Something’s been reeling at Andrew Wilson. 🎣

Thanks to Ms. Collins, Andrew Wilson now has a Fishing Club, and our students are already learning the skills they’ll need to hit the water! 👏

With help from Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries and Damion Frey, our future anglers learned how to cast, set up their reels, identify different fish found right here in Louisiana, and more. 🐟

There was plenty of learning, plenty of practice and, of course, plenty of excitement about what’s coming next. 🎣

Because soon, the practice is going to turn into the real thing. Our students will be casting their lines, waiting for that first bite and seeing what they can reel in. 👀

Stay tuned. The Wilson Fishing Club is just getting started, and we’ll be there to see what they catch! 🩵

For Dook Chase IV of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant, inspiration starts with the people who came before him.

As the fourth generation in the family business, Dook understands that he’s carrying forward more than a restaurant. He’s carrying a legacy rooted in community, family and faith, and a place that played a historic role in the Civil Rights Movement, where leaders gathered to organize, strategize and push the movement forward.

Now, with the fifth generation already part of the business, the responsibility is clear: keep it going.

If there’s one thing we know about our CEO, Jamar McKneely, it’s that he loves our students. And honestly, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate 50 than being surrounded by the young people who make this work so meaningful. 🔥

From our youngest students to our high schoolers, the messages, the laughs and the love say a lot about the kind of impact Jamar has made across InspireNOLA. ✨

For 50 years, Jamar has been building a life rooted in people, purpose, and community. And now, he’s continuing to Inspire The City, creating opportunities for our students, bringing people together and reminding New Orleans what can happen when you believe in what’s possible. 👏

Happy 50th, Mr. McKneely! Here’s to five decades of life, a whole lot of memories and an exciting new chapter ahead. 🎉

Today at Pierre Capdau S.T.E.A.M. School, our students got to dive into the world of water during Water Palooza, and they got to do it the best way we know how: hands-on! 💧

Students rotated through interactive activities with water professionals and organizations from across the region, exploring everything from how rainwater moves through our communities and how water is filtered and tested, to ways we can reduce water waste and protect our environment.

And yes, they even got to see how a little robot can help inspect pipes! 🤖

There were experiments, demonstrations, games, questions, discoveries and plenty of moments where our students got to see science happening right in front of them. 🔬

That’s what makes opportunities like Water Palooza so special at Capdau. Our students aren’t just learning about STEAM concepts. They’re experiencing them, connecting what they learn in the classroom to the world around them and seeing how science, technology, engineering, arts and math show up in real life. 👏

A huge thank you to all of the water organizations and professionals who spent the day pouring into our students and making learning this much fun. 🩵

A morning for the women who do so much for everyone else. 💕

Today, we celebrated our InspireNOLA moms at our annual Breakfast for Moms, creating a space for them to slow down, connect, laugh, share and simply enjoy being together. ✨

From a delicious breakfast, thanks to Chartwells, to powerful testimonies from pillars in our community, our moms were surrounded by music, joy and plenty of love. They cheered, listened to our choir, enjoyed performances from our dancers and, most importantly, had time to connect with one another. 🫶

Because sometimes, the people who spend so much of their time pouring into everyone else need a moment to be poured into, too. 🔥

We also invited community partners to join us and make sure our moms had access to resources and opportunities that can support them beyond today’s celebration. Because celebrating our moms also means making sure they know there are people, organizations and resources in their corner. 🤝

To every mom who joined us today, thank you for showing up and celebrating yourself and each other. We hope you left feeling encouraged, appreciated and reminded of just how important you are to our schools and our community. 😍

Here’s to our InspireNOLA moms. We celebrate you today and every day. 🩵
