To all of our doctoral alumni: We are sharing this announcement on behalf of one of our graduates. Dr. Deborah Allsbrook who is a Clinical Assistant Professor at LSU-Health Sciences
The Department of Counseling at LSU Health New Orleans is currently seeking qualified individuals to join our growing faculty team. Over the past several years, our program has experienced significant growth in student enrollment, program development, and community engagement, and we are excited to continue expanding our department to support this momentum.
We are currently hiring for two faculty positions (see links below) and would greatly appreciate your help sharing these opportunities with colleagues and recent graduates who may be a strong fit for our collaborative team.
These are full time, on campus faculty positions located in New Orleans. Candidates should understand that these roles require an in-person campus presence. Faculty are expected to maintain a consistent Monday through Friday, daytime presence on campus to support students, collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental initiatives, and contribute to the culture and growth of the program.
Our counseling program utilizes a hybrid instructional model, with some students attending classes in person while others participate remotely via Zoom. Faculty may teach a combination of daytime and evening courses depending on departmental needs and individual areas of expertise.
Our department values collaboration, professionalism, innovation, mentorship, and interdisciplinary engagement. We are seeking individuals who are goal-oriented, team-focused, and interested in contributing to the continued growth of both the Department of Counseling and the School of Allied Health Professions.
In addition to our CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, we have recently expanded our offerings to include certificate programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Play Therapy, Marriage and Family Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, and School Counseling. As such, clinical and/or educational experience in these specialty areas is preferred.
These positions offer meaningful opportunities for professional growth, leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and scholarly activity across LSU Health New Orleans and the broader healthcare community. Faculty also have opportunities to engage in clinical practice with clients across the lifespan through our Child & Family Counseling Clinic and participate in program development, service initiatives, and interdisciplinary research collaborations.
