LAGC is beyond excited to share about our new program manager: Andre D. Harris!

With 25+ years in education across Louisiana, Andre has served as a teacher, Dean, Assistant Principal, Principal, School Director, Adjunct Professor, and Campus Director.

His passion for Career & Technical Education (CTE) has shaped much of his career—from implementing programs in welding, culinary arts, healthcare, construction, and digital media to helping young people explore career pathways, earn certifications, gain hands-on experience, and build the skills they need to succeed.

We’re excited to have Andre bringing his wealth of experience, mentorship, and commitment to career readiness to our community! 💚💚

We had such an energizing visit from the Annie E. Casey Foundation Annie E. Casey Foundation The Corps Network The Corps Network and partners Philly Power Corps (PCPHL) PowerCorpsPHL , as part of our participation in Annie E. Casey’s Corps to Careers (C2C) initiative!

In addition to strategizing, planning, and sharing best practices to strengthen training-to-career pathways for our participants, we gave our guests a true look at a day in the life at Louisiana Green Corps—and a little taste of classic New Orleans.

🌱 We visited recent alum Chrishana at work with Mastodonte Mastodonte where she engages in regular green stormwater maintenance on a rain garden she helped build along the Lafitte Greenway Lafitte Greenway Partnership .

🪚 Our Crew Supervisors led the group through a hands-on woodshop tools exercise.

🤝 We brought together municipal and private employer partners for an alignment session focused on strengthening career pathways- special thanks to parksandparkways S&WB of New Orleans Landscape Architecture Firm Mastodonte

☀️ We visited our partners at FeedThe SecondLine Feed the Second Line and learned more about their work.

🍽️ And, of course, we shared some amazing New Orleans food Lil Dizzy’s Cafe and Café Reconcile !

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside incredible partners, share what’s working, and continue building stronger pathways from training to meaningful careers in resilience. 💚

Excited to continue sharing this work!
