We are profoundly grateful to Mike Bloomberg and Bloomberg Philanthropies’s Greenwood Initiative for their bold vision and tremendous support for which will accelerate our mission to create a healthier, more equitable, more just future for the Gulf South and for the nation.

This panel of medical educators and practitioners thought deeply on the necessity for diversity and broad representation in American medicine, in clinics and in research. They noted the benefits to life expectancy and health outcomes. Panelist emphasized the need for greater support of the pipeline from K through medical school graduation and to touch the imagination of our young early in their education and assure them that medical education is a real possibility.

We're proud to be one of more than 50 public and private partners in a statewide effort that has won the largest and most competitive grant ever awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) up to $160 million over the next 10 years. The NSF Louisiana Transition Engine (NSF Engines) grant is focused on energy transition and decarbonization of Louisiana’s industrial corridor and will support Future Use of Energy in Louisiana, or FUEL.

FUEL is driven to focus on influencing three core functions: Use-Inspired Research and Development, Workforce Development, and Translation of Innovation to Practice/Technology Commercialization.

As a core partner in FUEL, is strongly represented in the partnership and played a crucial role in developing the core functional areas.

It was good to join the legal community of Illinois in a hope-filled evening benefitting higher education in Haiti, along with the Hon. Yolaine Dauphin, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, the Hon. Lionel Jean-Baptiste, Naacp Evanston President Rev. Michael Nabors, Ron Guerier, and many others. This communal example of service is an inspiration.
