🎥 In Professor DeBose’s Film Theory and Process class, students study the creative choices directors made in monumental films of the modern era.

Through the greats, students learn how lighting, camera, sound, acting, and production design choices shape a film's feel, experience, and emotional impact.

Camille DeBose is an award-winning filmmaker and Professor of Practice in Filmmaking. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and an MFA in Cinema, and brings an interdisciplinary, research-informed approach to filmmaking that centers on the analysis of social forces, identity, and representation.

To learn from the best, come to Loyola.

Today, the Loyola Symphony Orchestra, Loyola Chorale, and dancers from the College of Music and Media ushered in the new academic year at our annual Mass of the Holy Spirit.

This highly anticipated and beautiful ceremony is a sacred tradition dating back nearly 500 years to 1548, when St. Ignatius Loyola founded the first Jesuit school in Messina, Sicily.

We hope all who attended feel uplifted and inspired, ready to move forward with spirit and strength.
