Today, Louisiana History Alive, joins the New Orleans theatre community in celebrating the life and work of Sherri Marina, pictured here as Mother Henriette DeLille. Unbelievably, she made time this past month to advise LHA on some next steps, and we are grateful for the insight she brought as an educator, community member, and performer.
Here's to you, Sherri! New Orleans will not be the same without your undeniable spirit.

Louisiana History Alive seeks Artistic Director / Business Manager. LHA's strength has always been bringing the museum experience to the general public on the streets of the French Quarter; education that reaches populations who do not seek historical enrichment. We do this by embodying famous people from Louisiana, bringing humanity to the history, and directly engaging with the public.
As for many non-profits, 2020 was a devastating year for us that evaporated funding and presented serious considerations as to how to proceed safely for our talent and our audiences. At this time, LHA is able to offer a stipend, however, we look forward to speaking with candidates with non-profit experience and innovative ideas for developing operational budgets in these times of Covid.
Forging ahead in a performance environment will take some real out-of-the-box thinking. If you're interested in applying for the position, LHA is available to answer questions and provide further details to qualified applicants in order to assist you with developing your vision for our platform. We'd like to make a decision by Spring 2021, hoping to begin the process with prospective applicants by the end of 2020. Please send a letter of introduction to [email protected] so that we may begin the conversation.
Louisiana History Alive remains dedicated to
• Accurate Portrayal
• Interactive Experience
• Truth in History
• Black Lives Matter
• Confederate Monument removal
Applicants from marginalized communities highly encouraged. Louisiana History Alive is a registered 501(c)3 organization.

Louisiana History Alive stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and fully supports raising up Black voices and their stories which have shaped and formed the New Orleans culture we all celebrate and love.

Have you ever seen the "meteorite" in Audubon Park? In honor of an odd day that appears only once every four years, we thought we might share an odd story from New Orleans' history :
Pictured here is a huge chunk of iron ore left over from the Alabama exhibit at the 1884 World's Fair. The legend of it being a meteorite originated in 1891, when as an April Fool's joke, the Daily Picayune printed a story claiming a meteorite had crashed into Audubon Park. You can see it for yourself by taking the Hurst Path which bisects the golf course, the "meteorite" is adjacent on one of the fairways.

They are two of our wonderful historical characters gracing the streets of the French Quarter on Sunday, December 15. Two of our charcters will also be attending the 600pm concert at St Louis Cathedral, more info can be found here :
