Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Reimann! It was a special homecoming for Mass Comm 2018 grads Sidney and Nick, who returned to Loyola in April to tie the knot at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Sidney says the couple met in Prof. Lisa Collins' reporting class, while Nick claims they met while working at The Maroon. Either way, it was a journalism love match, and now the happy couple lives in Washington, D.C. Sidney Majeé Holmes

Take me out to the ball game! Mass Comm professor Gregory Hampton Lee Jr. is giving young sports journalists real-time experience through The Sports Institute this summer. Students covered a recent Arizona Diamondbacks game, interviewed coaches and players, and sat in the press box. Loyola Mass Comm grad Samantha Guillotte is one of the 16 Institute members, and after this reporting boot camp she'll spend this summer working at the Florida Times-Union.

🎬 Senior Spotlight: Cameron Adams
As our senior film students reach the culmination of their time at Loyola, we’re proud to highlight Cameron Adams and her thesis film.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Cameron is a Filmmaking major with a minor in Women’s Studies. Her senior project reflects years of growth, collaboration, and creative development throughout her time in the program.
“I wrote this film as a love letter to the South’s beauty and diverse communities, as well as the female friendships I’ve had in my life,” Cameron shares. “This is a project I have been developing for close to 2 years… I am so thrilled with the story my team and I have created on screen.”
“We Were Girls Together” follows childhood best friends Jodi and Noah, who reunite to fulfill a long-promised road trip, only for their journey to take an unexpected turn when they become stranded in a small Southern town. As tensions rise, their bond is tested and long-buried truths begin to surface.
As Cameron prepares to graduate, we celebrate the dedication and passion she has poured into this project and look forward to seeing where her storytelling takes her next.
Check out some behind-the-scenes of her film!

As our senior film students reach the culmination of their time at Loyola, we’re proud to highlight Maddy Geauthreaux and her thesis film, Watchman’s Woods.
Originally from Covington, Louisiana, Maddy has spent over a year developing this project, bringing together the skills she’s built throughout her time in the program. Rooted in her longtime love of horror, Watchman’s Woods is a horror-comedy that follows two friends searching for a local monster, inspired by urban legends and shot in the “found footage” style.
“My strengths lie in the art department and editing, so I aimed to make a film that leaned heavily into both,” Maddy shares. Over the course of the process, she embraced the challenges of filmmaking, even returning to reshoot key scenes in order to better align with her vision. “A major takeaway… is to trust your gut and not be afraid to take a knife to your work in order to carve out the good stuff.”
That willingness to refine and take creative risks led to a film that more closely reflects her voice balancing humor, character, and the eerie tone of the woods.
As Maddy prepares to graduate, we’re excited to see her continue creating and exploring the horror genre and maybe even return to the world of Watchman’s Woods.
Check out some photos and behind-the-scene images of Maddy's incredible work.
