Based in New York City, NYU Langone, one of the nation's premier academic medical centers devoted to patient care, education, and research is are offering qualified individuals the opportunity to participate in its Emergency Management + Enterprise Resilience (EM+ER) Fellowship Program. The mission of the program is to prepare rising talent with a passion for emergency management for experience in the career fields of emergency management, public health preparedness, and healthcare preparedness.

Through this one year, full-time salaried program, Fellow will support and own projects with an increasing level of responsibility and will become involved with a broad range of preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery efforts, while being mentored by EM+ER's departmental leadership. All communities are vulnerable to climate change impacts, and some have increased vulnerabilities due to limited access to resources and opportunities. Looking at climate resilience through the lens of equity can help address these disproportionate impacts and dismantle barriers to preparedness and response. This will help ensure all communities employ policies and processes that make sense for them and where all can participate and thrive. As such, the Tulane University School of Social Work has invited a variety of leaders to speak about their approaches to "Equitable Adaptation and Climate Resilience" at the January Elk Place Health Spot. The course, entitled “Climate X JEDI,” will imbue justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity (JEDI) into information on climate change and its effects.
