Prayer Intention of the Day: Humility

Today, we pray for humble hearts—hearts willing to serve without recognition and to place God’s will before our own.

St. Thérèse, teach us that we do not need praise for every good thing we do. Help us find joy in small and hidden acts of love, knowing that what may go unnoticed by others is always seen by God.

Our Little Way Today: Do something good for someone quietly, without telling anyone or seeking recognition.

Prayer Intention of the Day: Love

Today, we pray for our families, our school community, and all those entrusted to our care. We pray especially for anyone who feels forgotten, excluded, or alone.

St. Thérèse, you discovered that your vocation was love. Teach us to love as Christ loves—to welcome others, recognize their dignity, forgive freely, and help every person know that they are valued.

Our Little Way Today: Make an intentional effort to show someone that they are seen, loved, and valued.

Today, we pray for all those who devote themselves to serving others. We remember our teachers, caregivers, first responders, clergy, volunteers, and all who quietly care for those in need.

St. Thérèse, remind us that no act of love is insignificant in God’s eyes. Help us recognize opportunities to serve the people around us and to do so joyfully, without seeking praise or recognition.

Our Little Way Today: Help someone without being asked, expecting nothing in return.

St. Thérèse, help us recognize God’s goodness in both the great and little things—the people we love, a helping hand, a quiet moment, or an unexpected kindness. Give us hearts that are grateful for what we have received.

Prayer Intention of the Day: Patience

Today, we pray for patience with ourselves and with one another. We remember those facing difficult circumstances, long periods of waiting, or situations beyond their control.

St. Thérèse, help us meet the little frustrations of each day with grace. When our patience is tested, teach us to respond with gentleness rather than frustration and to see difficult moments as opportunities to choose love.

Our Little Way Today: When your patience is tested, pause before responding and choose gentleness.

Prayer Intention of the Day: Kindness

Today, we pray that our words and actions may reflect the love of Christ. We remember especially those who may be lonely, struggling, or in need of compassion.

St. Thérèse, you showed us that holiness can be found in the smallest acts of love. Help us notice the people God places in our path and respond to them with patience, gentleness, and kindness.

Our Little Way Today: Do one small act of kindness for someone without expecting anything in return.

Today, we invite our entire St. Thérèse Academy community to join us here on social media for a virtual nine-day novena as we prayerfully prepare for the Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, our patron saint, on October 1.

Each day through September 30, we will share a prayer intention inspired by St. Thérèse and her Little Way. We hope our students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends will join us in prayer from wherever they may be.

Day 1 — September 22
Prayer Intention of the Day: Trust

Today, we pray for all those carrying worries, uncertainty, or fear. We especially remember the intentions held quietly in the hearts of our STA students, families, faculty, and staff.

St. Thérèse, teach us your Little Way. Help us to trust completely in God’s love, especially when we cannot see what lies ahead. Remind us that we do not have to accomplish great things to be close to God, but can serve Him through small acts offered with great love.

Our Little Way Today: When something feels uncertain, pause and place it in God’s hands.

St. Thérèse, Little Flower of Jesus, pray for us.
