O. Perry Walker College and Career Preparatory High School Lewis' deal in New Orleans comes just two days after his close friend Mike Wallace, who was a teammate of his at O.P. Walker and the Pittsburgh Steelers, signed a five-year, $60 million contract with the Miami Dolphins.

O. Perry Walker College and Career Preparatory High School O. Perry Walker featured in a national publication, The Atlantic, which talks about the school's efforts to assist students with the challenges of applying for college.

Dozens of spectators gathered to watch the O. Perry Walker Marching Band march on Canel St. and build upon their international fame while filming with a Japanese TV Crew. The O.P. Walker marching band is being highlighted in Japan for their aid to that country during the aftermath of their natural disaster in 2011. The O. Perry Walker "Chosen Ones" Brass Band has been invited to perform a concert tour in Japan this October!

O.P. Walker Band Director Wilbert Rawlins, Jr. encourages a group of young boys to keep up their grades and musical aspirations. The boys watched in awe as the O.P.W. Marching Band filmed by Circle Food Store with an international Japanese TV crew.

The O. Perry Walker Class of 1982 held their 30th year class renion in July 2012 at the Suite in Algiers. Representatives from the Oliver Perry Walker Alumni Association and the O. Perry Walker Alumni Department updated the alumni on the great things happening at their alma mater.

The O. Perry Walker Class of 2012 are now OPW Alumni. We are proud of you, Chargers!!!!

You’re invited…

The O. Perry Walker Dance Department requests the honor of your presence at our Final Exam performance. The performance will be held at Dillard University’s Cook Theater at 7:00pm, Thursday May 17, 2012.

The performance includes dance pieces that encompass many different styles of dance: jazz, theatrical, lyrical, ballet, hip hop and multicultural - all performed by the students in the Dance Elective Course and featuring the O. Perry Walker Rhythms Dance Company, the O. Perry Walker Gospel Choir and the Blessed Trinity-- P*e Wee Praisers Dance Ministry.

The students have worked very hard on their final exam presentation and are excited to showcase their work!


The cost is $10, children under six free!
