This past weekend, our dean, Kathleen Kennedy, Pharm.D., attended the NACDS Foundation dinner in Boston and celebrated the impact of pharmacy leaders and educators across the country.

She was able to reconnect with the president of the NACDS Foundation and COP alumna, Dr. Christie Boutte. In her first year leading, she shared that the institution raised an incredible $1.6 million to support its mission, research, and pharmacy education.

This year, the Foundation also launched a new leadership training program for students, providing opportunities to develop the skills and experiences needed to lead in the pharmacy profession. On of our P3 students, Tiffanie Galbreth, was selected to participate in the program.

Thank you to the NACDS Foundation for hosting a wonderful event and helping to improve the health of our communities.

Xavier University of Louisiana proudly congratulates renowned artist, educator, and cultural visionary Ron Bechet on being named a 2026 Grand Griot by the Ashé Cultural Arts Center (Ashé Cultural Arts Center) during the 26th Annual MAAFA Commemoration.

This distinguished honor recognizes individuals whose lives and work preserve, protect, and pass forward African and African American history, culture, and collective memory for future generations. Through his extraordinary artistic practice, unwavering commitment to education, and lifelong dedication to community, Ron Bechet has profoundly enriched New Orleans and inspired generations of Xavier students.
