Founded in 1998, Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans is an Independent, co-educational, non-sectarian bilingual school for children 18-months through 8th grade. The mission of Ecole Bilingue is to provide a strong and distinctive bilingual education by combining the best of French and American academics.

Going gaga for GaGa Ball! Our élémentaire students are stacking up to play a brand-new game at their (three daily) recesses: GaGa Ball! This popular sport is played inside a small pit and lets kids of varying sizes and ages compete evenly. Despite the lines, it's fast-paced, très amusant and rotates quickly!

🚀 Mission to Mars! 🪐 CE2 (3rd grade) students are taking inspiration from Mars rover engineering as they designed and built their own robotic arms in STEM class with Mme Catherine! After studying the anatomy of the human hand, students created plans for an arm that can pick up a cup. Then they turned those plans into reality by cutting and constructing their designs with cardboard. With the arms complete, CE2 students are now working to build rubber band-powered mars rovers. 🌱 We’re proud to announce that Ecole Bilingue has been awarded the EFE3D Level 1 label by AEFE! 🇫🇷🌎

This distinction, awarded jointly by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) and the French Ministry of National Education, recognizes French schools abroad that place sustainable development at the heart of their teaching, operations, and community life.

At EB, sustainability is truly a whole-community effort. Our students are at the heart of the initiative—from gardens, seeds, and butterfly life cycles in maternelle, to renewable-energy “cars of the future,” community sailing, composting, and service-learning projects in élémentaire and middle school. 🌻🦋🚗⛵️

Our EFE3D journey also reflects our strong local roots and partnerships, parent-led garden projects, Chef Adrienne’s commitment to fresh and vegetarian options and reusable trays, and our work toward 100% recyclable and compostable events are all part of the bigger picture. 💚

A huge félicitations to our faculty—especially Mme Catherine and Mme Marine—our eco-delegates, students, families, and community partners for making this achievement possible.

Aprés l'École 🎭🏀🎨 From art and theater, to chess, to gymnastics and sports, Ateliers are underway at EB. Our after-school programs let students test out new interests, build new skills and develop relationships outside the classroom.

Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, the field behind our middle school received a fabulous renovation this summer. The field was leveled, drainage installed, turf replaced the grass and new soccer goals and volleyball net were put in place. From daily recess to weekly recreation to special programs, all our students use this field throughout the year. If you haven't seen it yet, plan to join us for the Back-to-school picnic on Sept. 11. Stay tuned for more playground updates to come!

Outstanding achievement for Ecole Bilingue on the AEFE math competition! 🏆

In this year's La Course aux Nombres, a mental math competition organized by the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad), our second-grade classes earned 2nd and 6th place among all AEFE-accredited schools in North America. Overall, EB had 19 students who placed in the top spots for their grade-level, and Reed Smith placed 1st among all second-grade students in the competition! 🌟

La Course aux Nombres challenges students to solve 30 mental math problems in just 10 minutes—without scratch paper or calculators—testing both speed and accuracy.

Félicitations to our young mathematicians and their teachers for this remarkable accomplishment!

The rain couldn't keep us away! Last night's End-of-Year Picnic celebrated a beautiful school year at Ecole Bilingue with our community and recognized outstanding parent volunteers from this '25-'26 year. Félicitations to Shannon Atwater, Jenelle Boucher, Mary Marchand, Sarah Harms and Katie Witry for your efforts that have gone above and beyond to make our school better. And thanks to the always outstanding Parent Association for organizing beverages and helping make picnic happen!
