Our Career Launchpad initiative, in partnership with GNO, Inc., New Orleans Career Center, and Nunez Community College, gave our mentees hands-on experience while introducing them to careers in architecture, construction, engineering, and advanced manufacturing.

Each Friday, they stepped beyond the classroom to visit local partners, seeing firsthand how the skills they were learning translate into real-world careers and connecting directly with industry professionals.

This is what preparing the next generation looks like. 🚀

The Women's Luncheon | September 18th
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Good things happen when women gather with purpose. We invite you to an afternoon celebrating community, connection, and the bright futures of our young men.

This year, we launch Power the Potential, a Women's Investment Circle that transforms the event into a collaborative philanthropic experience.

Women who join through either a one-time gift of at least $1,000 or a recurring monthly commitment of at least $100 will receive an exclusive invitation to attend The Women's Luncheon on Friday, September 18th.

During the luncheon, Son of a Saint staff members will present three critical areas of need, sharing how each transforms the lives of our mentees. Members of the Investment Circle will then vote to determine which initiative will receive 100% of the funds raised through this year's campaign.

✈️ Clear skies ahead!

Hosted by Board Member Pike Howard at Peregrine Howard Aviation, our mentees got an up-close look at the world of aviation. The day included a behind-the-scenes tour of the New Orleans Lakefront Airport, vintage aircraft, and conversations about the many career paths the aviation industry offers.

A special thank you to Pike Howard and BJ Perret of The Blackhawk Flight Foundation for helping our young men see just how far their futures can take them.

We’re proud to welcome Kenneth Polite and Pike Howard to the Son of a Saint Board of Directors.

Both Howard and Polite have supported Son of a Saint since the early years and currently sponsor young men in the program, reflecting a commitment that extends far beyond board service. Their appointments represent years of partnership with the organization and a shared belief in the transformative power of mentorship, education, and opportunity.

We’re grateful to have them at the table as we continue building futures for the boys we serve.

As we head into the holiday weekend, we’re celebrating a summer filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and stay active.

Our mentees recently joined members of the U.S. Marine Corps for a fitness session focused on teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth. Every new experience helps broaden perspectives and reminds our boys that strength comes in many forms.

Join me at SUEDE: The Men’s Lounge at ESSENCE Fest, where we’ll be celebrating culture, connection, and community all weekend.
