The Meredith Long's Theatre page

The Meredith Long's Theatre page I've enjoyed teaching Talented Theatre in St. Tammany and Jefferson Parish as a gifted teacher and theatre evaluator.

It is my desire to provide students with opportunities to express their creativity and hone their raw talent in a class where they will have fun while learning lifelong tools. My academic journey began at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, where I earned a degree in Music Theatre, setting the stage for an exciting career in the performing arts. Living in New York City, I performed at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall and participated in Off-Broadway productions, as well as touring nationally across North America and sailing with Disney cruise lines. In 2015, I became the Director of Performing Arts at St. Martin’s Episcopal School, where I received the Innovative Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Teacher of the Year awards for my commitment to excellence. I also created a thriving performing arts camp that tripled enrollment by its second year. Most recently, I served as the Fine Arts Director at Christian Brothers School in New Orleans, overseeing the theatre and art curriculum while also marketing our programs. I built a successful after-school theatre program that continues to flourish. This fall, I’ll return to teaching theatre in the Gifted Talented program at Hynes Charter School, excited to be part of a school that values community and collaboration. I remain active in the greater New Orleans performing arts scene, performing and directing productions. My goal as an educator is to foster a nurturing environment where students can express themselves through the arts.
