What happens when science leaves the textbook and meets the real world? Our scholars start thinking about how to change it.

We’re proud to see Sci High Earth Science teacher Mr. Rahn Broady and his scholars featured by The Lens for taking on a uniquely New Orleans challenge: rethinking the tradition of balloon releases in light of Louisiana’s new law and their impact on our environment.

From protecting wildlife and waterways to considering culture, affordability and community traditions, our scholars are doing more than learning environmental science, they’re asking questions, challenging ideas and developing solutions for the community they call home.

This is what learning looks like at Sci High. 🔬🌱🌎

Big congratulations to our very own senior, Elias Tilton, for earning Gold Medalist honors at the Regional NAACP ACT-SO Competition!

Elias was awarded a cash prize, a scholarship, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Nationals in Chicago this July. We are incredibly proud of his hard work, talent, and dedication as he continues to represent our school with excellence.
